03-05 SW30 in Blue Mica nonetheless, I hate you lol

Nice Wheels btw, how's that damned SMT holding up in '24?

I've always wanted a 3rd gen....they really are go-karts with doors.

Thanks! The SMT has been entirely problem free. I changed the hydraulic fluid when I first got the car running in 2021 and again this last summer. I have a rebuild kit in case the seals start to go too. The unit is pretty small and just sits on top of the transmission, so it's pretty easy to reach. I've gotten better at driving it over time, and I get pretty fast upshifts out of it now.

Just picked up an NC3 Club 2014 very clean and STOCK! :clap:Seems like gotta always own a Miata! These NCs are actually the most comfortable a little roomier since based on the RX-8 platform, alum control arms, stiffer chassis, etc. Lightweight, light controls, perfect pedals placement for heel-toe, last of hydraulic steering, just so fun to toss around! Tons of upgrade potential, easier on wallet too!

How come I barely see any Evo’s on the road anymore? I used to see them as much as I saw the STI’s.

Evos sold in smaller numbers to start with and STIs got a whole other generation after the Evo X ended in 2015. And people wreck them every winter because they overestimate the abilities of the car and underestimate the effects of crap tires.

How has the MR been reliability wise? SST scares me, but the MR seems to be much cheaper in the used market, and , would make a nice daily. If I remember correctly driving one 10+ years ago, the ride was better than the 335i my friend had at the time.

How do you like the mr2?

My Evo only had two problems, none related to the SST: corroded AYC pump (replaced in warranty) and seizing parking brake in cold temperatures (pretty recent, fixing now). SST has been great for me. I have a heated sump and a TCU map that increases clutch pressures to maximize clutch life. You have to be careful of poor maintenance and abuse when buying a higher mileage SST. But if you budget in a rebuild from the start, you'll have nothing to worry about. A few people I follow have 100k+ km SSTs driven normally with no problems. I'm still around 30k miles.

My MR2 has been flawless. I fix it and tinker with it a little bit, but it's still my favorite of all my cars after 5 years.

Since my post, I also got an FL5. Pretty nice.
