Looking to get new tires but there are so many tire brands out there. Below are some tire brands I might consider but don't if they are any good:

- Hankook
- Pirelli
- Michelin
- Gladiator
- Lexani
- Kenda Vezda
- Atturo
- Fortune Viento
- Lionhart
- Continental
- Kumho Ecsta
- Gripmax
- Bridgstone
- Petlas
- Nitto
- Toyo Proxes
- Yokohama
I just replaced the OEM with Continental Contacts and it was the best decision I’ve made. It’s night and day the way the car handles.

I’ve run Bridgestone, Dunlop, Continental. The wife likes Michelin on her cars, which you can’t really go wrong with for longevity. She had Khumos, but they don’t wear well and had balance issues in the long run.

Of the ones I mentioned, like others on the thread the Continental Extreme Contact have been the best in terms of handling balanced with price. I live in CA and so will hardly ever drive in cold or rainy conditions. For all season, I’d be boring and pick a trusted name brand like Michelin, Pirelli, Yoko, Toyo… But let’s face it- the Z isn’t going to be a good car to drive in the snow no matter what tires you pick.

EDIT: One decision that would help reduce the hours you could spend contemplating a million different tires is whether you're looking for All Season or Summer tires. If Summer, there's a pretty good range within that category. Not sure what the lowest is, but we'll say "Performance Summer," And you have High Performance, Ulltra-High Performance, Max Performance, Extreme Performance...there may be others in there too, idk. One of the things people can help you with here are their experiences with tires within those categories. For example, I believe the tire on the Z Sport (Bridgestone Potenze S007?) are Max Performance Summer, but Z Sport owners will tell you there are plenty of tires in lower categories that outperform them.

My opinion on manufacturers below.

Low profile sporty tires for 19" wheels aren't going to be cheap. I think a set of Walmart Generals for approx 19x10 would run $1K. For a quality set expect $1,400+, unless there's a sale for specific sizes or some promotion. That said, you can also get a $1,400 set of Michelin "A" that you'd like quite a bit more than a set of Michelin "B" (just using Michelin as a generic example).
I think my last set of 19" Michelin PS4s 6-8 months ago was just under $1,300 for 245/45 and 275/40 (close enough)

On the high end you can get a set of what are practically race tires for just under $2K.

Right now for 'good' tires:
All Season: $1,200-$1,300
Summer: $1,200-$1,350
High to Max Perf Summer: $1,400-$1,550

- Michelin
- Continental
- Pirelli

- Bridgstone (almost made this one yellow, again, hit or miss. I've had Bridgestones that were really good)
- Yokohama (good Mfr, but can be hit or miss)
- Nitto (Good stuff on the high-end)

- Toyo Proxes (I wouldn't run these, but leaving this one yellow)
- Kumho (hit or miss...havent' run these in a while, and never on a heavier car, but some swear by them)
- Hankook (no experience, but some like the ultra-high-performance models)

- Gladiator
- Lexani
- Kenda Vezda
- Atturo
- Fortune Viento
- Lionhart
- Gripmax
- Petlas

I feel that the value of the Indy 500 and the General Max RS is hard to beat. They are cheaper alternatives to PS4S.

I am kind of sad because you crossed out the Lionhart brand. 😢

Lionhart reminds me of the action movie LIONHEART with Jean-Claude Van Damme. My childhood favorite movie.

Always been a Michelin guy myself.

I drive my sports cars year round even in cold weather (as long as the roads are dry). I do not track so any all-season Michelin's are what I go for.

When these Potenza's burn out I am leaning towards Michelin PS A/S 4
No comparison. My Sport is a different car going from the junk Yokohamas to the Pilot A/S. Night and day.

Other than @MacDuff's post not too much mention of Goodyear on this thread. What gives?

It looks like the Goodyears have been out in Europe for a bit longer than the USA. I think they are fairly new to the States. In the TireRack ratings chart, they have no miles listed and it's an estimated rating based on their testing. Again, I usually go with the Conti's or Michelins, but I have been extremely happy with the Goodyears and would choose them again. Price was solid as well, but I would have paid more if I thought the other tires were superior.

I did a fair bit of research including the latest Tirerack comparison and Tyrereviews.com testing.…
Did tirerack.com drop the category ranking/comparison charts or am I missing it? In the past you could see all tires in that category lined up, or at least the ones with enough miles/scores to make the list. I can see individual rankings, but not the whole category.

I have a quick question about changing to new tires. When you change tires to different sizes for the front and rear tires, does the Z give you error codes?

Currently, my tire sizes are 255/40R19 for the fronts and 285/35R19 for the rears. The recommended psi for Z is 30 psi.

The new tire sizes are 255/30R19 for the fronts and 305/30R19 for the rears.

When I replace it with new tires, do I still put 30 psi air pressure? And do I need to reset any error codes?
