For those of us in the USA, "cash for clunkers" decimated the number of older, desirable cars.

It's rare that I see any cool 80's or 90's cars anymore, either in the wild or for sale online.

I sold my 1987 Prelude Si 3 years ago and got significantly more than I was asking for it.

Here’s some cars I miss.
1993 RX-7 FD. Traded it with just under 50k miles. Only thing not original was the exhaust. Really fun car

1978 280Z. Never got to do much with it. Was fixing the completely rusted out floor pans in college when the garage that was helping me shut down unexpectedly.

1990 300ZX TT. Funnest car I’ve owned aside from my A90 Supra. Started having engine problems while I was in college and I couldn’t afford a rebuild at the time.

I really miss my MS3, this car was just fun in general, I met alot of cool people because of this car.

Bought the car for 7k, and within six months put 7k worth of parts in it, blew the original engine and replaced it with the better Genpu engine.

Both my 370z and g35. 370z was first manual and was 90% setup the way I wanted. G35 was becoming a maintenance PITA but that car got me through undergrad, relationships and grad school. Nothing can replace that car for me. It was also my first car so so pretty sentimental for a carnut like me.

I've been driving almost 60 years now and had about 20 cars in that time.
The three that I miss the most are first and most of all my Silver 1981 280 ZX. Purchased new and driven for about 10 years. Never should have sold it... dependable, fun, good looking every thing you could have asked for. Sold it too soon for too little.
The next is an unlikely candidate, my '85 Chevy S 10 pickup. Bought for a song. Carefree, hit me with your bumper, laugh it off... drive it through the woods, park it anywhere, push a friend, carry anything anywhere...gave it to my son to use in High School (he has a few good stories about it also). Best damn all around tool I ever owned.
Third on the list has to be my '68 Mustang Fastback, red, 289, dead dependable, should have kept it but I traded it to a friend for his '69 Cougar big block.
Like I said I had a lot of other cars, another Mustang, a couple British sports cars, some big American converts, a couple Acuras (my '89 Integra was an all round great car, I should have kept it instead of buying my "93 Vigor...a disaster on wheels)
So those three stand out.
Honorable mention:
'64 Triumph TR4
'60 Pontiac Catalina convertible

I had a new 1992 Vigor. In a way it was my favorite car of all time. I wonder what bad experiences you had?
Mine had the master cylinder fail at 20K miles and cause the car to spin out a little, fortunately no accident.

I recently bought a mint 1993 Vigor GS with a bad engine only to find out the G25 engine likes to break it's camshaft. And often the door may fail to unlatch due to a latch failure and that it nearly impossible to fix.

Goes to show no car manufacturer makes winners all the time

I can't find any pictures unfortunately, but I would do almost anything to get my old '78 280Z 5 speed back. I've had a few other good cars, but this is the only one I truly miss. I had to get something more practical when my first wife got preggers.

Still kicking myself over trading this in. 2007 BMW M coupe, only a little over 1800 built for US market, 4K world wide. Worth more now than when I bought it. S54 motor was amazing with 6 throttle bodies. Took months of searching to find one.

Yep, they make into nice track cars, one example here. I had the S54 M Roadster once, 2002, quick but too small for me.

Clown shoe! I'm looking for one in Australia. Hard to find, especially in good shape.

Out of every car I've ever owned, I miss my 40th Anniversary 370Z the most - I got really lucky that Owner #1 (I was #2) was a real one....he put put the entire Nismo catalog in that car.

Shocks
Springs
Sways
Intakes
Exhaust
Brake Pads
ECU Flash

I loved the colors, that Red interior was just perfect, I regret trading it in on that damned Z4.....if I knew then what I know now - I would have kept it with it's problem free awesomeness.

May sound odd for some but I really miss my 96 integra. I beat the ever lovin dog poo outta that car and it never once gave up on me. Sold it for 1k with a little over 300k on the poor thing. Shoulda kept it and put another 200k on it.
