Curious to hear from those who have run the V1 and switch to V2 (when available) if there are any differences, pro's, con's, etc...

Who would spend the money to switch to the same tune?

My first guess would be people that don't want to remove and ship their module across the country for map updates/changes.

If they're no longer in bed with RaceChip, they may not be able to support any changes, or perform app updates. They probably have/had minimal control over the app, or no control at all if it's whitelisted. If that stuff does come into play, my second guess at "who would spend the money to switch to the same tune" would be those that want known good up to date support...like the member who posted: "If the app fails I'm calling for a full refund"

Their tuning is very basic. Probably just Cat-Back, intake that's probably about it. I don't see a point in doing and OTA flashes is what I was trying to get at.

I understand the hassle of having to send it in to get a new tune (I would not be happy).
In reality how often do you need a new tune?
Once you have the basic engine mods done, doesn't the tune stay the same unless you make other changes?
I thought this was a set and forget device unlike a "real" tune with a trained expert on the other end of UCU making changes and tweaking so it is perfect?

I think the general idea behind the trucontrol system is that they're figuring that's probably all you're going to get because is such an affordable mod that has major power gains. Why even do anything else? I did, but wasn't planning on it. The video from Stillen is a little misleading making it sound like they can support a lot of mods, but he also stresses that a FBO Z is better off with a true Dyno tune. $1500 for a tune? Or $550 for a Trucontrol? That's what people need to consider. Plus you can unplug this thing and keep your warranty. That was a huge factor for me. But I just did LDPs so I probably have no warranty because of that LOL

I've tried Map 4, 5 and 6. Now I felt a substantial difference in pull but I have the Stillen Comp exhaust along with B6A type intake so the combination feels solid.

4 felt the smoothest
5 felt a bit more aggressive
6 felt like lots of trouble otw lol

I haven't been brave enough to try 7

I didn't want a tune so this kit is all I need but most of the time I'll be in Map 4 and 5.
Thanks.

So I tried Map 7 πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚!

With my B6A intake and Stillen Comp exhaust plus the 285 width Dunlops warmed up it was perfect! The intake blow off sound was more intense and louder. I tried it out in a country part of Georgia with no cops and smooth curvy roads with very little traffic in the way, thankfully πŸ˜…

How does the trucontrol go on the nismo? Do you get much extra out of it vs the performance?
