Hi all,
I have been having some issues with my infotainment specifically with phone calling. When calling anyone or receiving a call, they sound extremely broken up, robotic, and like dial-up (more robotic than dial-up).
Of note: this also happens on every other phone that has been tested with the car, even the service manager and his techs phone.
Car: 2024 Nissan Z Sport with less than 350 miles
Initial steps I took to try to fix this were:
1st attempt:
Dealerships 1st attempt:
Dealerships 2nd attempt:
Me, struggling, decided to push power and tune (again) for a soft reset in hopes it would fix it and I'd be rid of this problem.
Result: Not Fixed
Me struggling even more, decided to push power and tune 5 more times for a soft reset.
Result: Not Fixed
Dealerships 3rd attempt:
Photos:
First with no serial number???
Second with a serial number, when they "updated" it. Note the software version is the exact same.

Initial steps I took to try to fix this were:
- Try a different Android Auto cable: Failed
- Use a Google Pixel specific USB C cable: Failed
- Tried Bluetooth instead of Android Auto: Failed
1st attempt:
- Navigate to the settings on the infotainment, and reset
So, I took it to the dealership.
Dealerships 1st attempt:
- Press and hold the Power and Tune physical buttons for a soft reset of the infotainment
- Result:
Fixed!Or so I thought. The next time I started the car it happened immediately.
Dealerships 2nd attempt:
- "Update the software"
- Noticed they actually didn't update the software as the version is the same, but it seems they did flash the software onto the infotainment
- I can tell this because now there is a serial number. There wasn't a serial number before?!
- Maybe it wasn't a hard flash (like on Android) because the sound settings seemed to be the same (bass, treble, etc.)
- Result:

Dealerships 3rd attempt:
- Called my service manager, by now he knows my name and car
- I calmly and politely tell him that the problem still exists
- He immediately says, "Okay, that's unfortunate. The next step is for us to do a warranty claim. We will fully back you with Nissan and hopefully it will get approved. Can you drop off your car?"
- I plan to drop my car off tomorrow and then ignore the topic until I'm back from July 4th long holiday weekend
