Re-Programing the key fob after battery changed

I already had to change the battery for my key fob. After doing that the fob did not work. Thank God I have the spare key. So I watched some videos in YT about taking the little key out and turning it 10 times clockwise and counterclockwise. I also watched one that says the fob should be placed before the key button.
The only thing that worked was placing the key fob on the start button. However, it's not working like before. The unlock button wont work well. Also, the car won't start unless I place the key fob right on the start button.
Anyone has experienced this?

I suspect you may have installed a bad or dead battery. Another thing to check is ensuring your polarity is correct on the battery (logo side down). I replaced the batteries in both my fobs this weekend and had no issues; CR2032 is the correct battery size.

Oh boy!
Something is not right here.
So, I did make sure that the battery logo was upside down. It was odd to me that it had to be that way but that's how the original one was.
As far as not having to do nothing after replacing the battery; I did some YT search and , apparently, it's happened to many people.
I will end up having to go to the dealer and... I'm sure will be expensive...

Try another battery at least before heading in to the dealer. They're cheap at Dollar General and Harbor Freight.

Might seem obvious, but I have had some offbrand batteries bought off Amazon that had a clear plastic sticker on the positive side. Other than that all I can say is like everyone else here, try a different known working battery before heading off to dealership purgatory.

Well Well Well
This is embarrassing... went to the dealer with both key fobs. Explained the problem... they opened one key fob; the one I had replaced the battery. They immediately saw the problem... wrong battery number... instead of CR2032, I used a CR2016.
You guys were right. Just replaced both batteries and both fobs worked normally
Cost me $7. Lesson learned. Pay more attention next time...

$7 could have gotten you a pack of 4 Duracel or Energizer at Home Depot or walmart

Glad it worked out. Those numbers on the battery are small and deceiving sometimes. You think its one thing, but another set of eyes shows it another. Time for new set of eyes?
