Perhaps not surprising, but it still sucks - https://www.thedrive.com/news/no-more-toyota-gr-sports-cars-are-coming-any-time-soon-report

"Speaking to Australia's Drive (unaffiliated), Toyota GR86 chief engineer Yasunori Suezawa stated that Toyota's GR performance car lineup is pretty much complete. Specifically regarding more GR cars, he reportedly said, "there is none left actually, so this [new GR86] is the last."

"For the GR [brand], basically this [new GR86] is the last. But we have a GR Sport [brand] that we will be [widening] with models like the Corolla, Yaris Cross, and C-HR," Suezawa added."

I wouldnt take what Yasunori Suezawa said at face value. We all know a number of car companies are on the hush hush when it comes to future products.

Michigan Deems Carvana An “Imminent Threat” To The Public, Suspends Their License To Sell Cars

Not saying Carvana does everything right, but I wonder how much of these actions against it, are motived by pressure from powerful lobby groups? I image the powerful dealer lobby is not happy about the competition, and there are already in place all kinds of rules and regulations that could be used to hit competitors.

Everything in that article lays out specific acts which were taken that resulted in financial and legal perils for the public. Those acts perverted legal business transactions done by every dealer.

No politics were involved.
