I like the fog lights. I wish the Z had something like that.

Has the GT-R seen the canards before?

in 2020 the GTR NISMO set a record lap of 59.361 for the "fastest commercially available car."

January 10th of 2024 after a 3 day time attack NISMO Super GT driver Tsugio Matsuda was able to improve on the time to 59.078 after consistently lapping the track at 59.2.

Final year of R35

Limited to 1500 in Japan 300 of them NISMO. Orders will reportedly be distributed by a lottery system

Nissan has communicated to Japan dealer network parts used to build the car will no longer be available in the future so production is ending.

Also reports out of Japan that other factors include new safety and noise regulations coming in 2026 for Japan. This includes the requirement of auto braking features that would be costly to add to the GTR and an even more strict noise restriction than what forced the JDM 2024 GTR to fully revise its exhaust.

more details available during the announcement this week.

The GTR is pretty long in the tooth like the Z. It’s possible that the Z will see something similar in the coming years. A final run of cars as a last hoorah.

The R35 NISSAN GT-R was developed with the product concept of pursuing the ultimate driving pleasure , and since its launch in 2007, it has continued to improve with each model year.
In the 2025 model to be released this time, the "NISSAN GT-R Premium edition" has been newly set with "Blue Heaven," an exclusive special interior color based on blue.
In addition, the piston rings, connecting rods, crankshafts, etc. of the "NISSAN GT-R Premium edition T-spec" and "NISSAN GT-R Track edition engineered by NISMO T-spec" have been used only for the "GT-R NISMO Special edition". By adopting the high-precision weight balance parts that were used in the previous model, we have increased the precision of the response and further refined the performance.
These two models also feature a new aluminum name plate with the craftsman's name engraved in red letters and a gold model number plate inside the engine compartment.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The latest chapter for the legendary Nissan GT-R takes shape with the introduction of two new, limited-production special editions to close out the 2024 model year. Building on the changes already announced for the 2024 GT-R, the T-spec Takumi Edition and Skyline Edition pay homage to the performance vehicle that has been an iconic nameplate of the Nissan lineup for decades.

Honoring talented craftspeople
The GT-R T-spec Takumi Edition honors the eponymous takumi master craftspeople responsible for hand-assembling each GT-R VR38DETT engine. The engine badge acknowledging the takumi dedicated to its creation will feature red-etched writing, and the engine bay will house a gold VIN plate. The red engine badge signifies an elevated level of attention to precise engine tolerances and component balancing during assembly, making these examples of the twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V6 even more desirable.

Additionally, the T-spec Takumi Edition stands apart from other GT-R variants thanks to its Midnight Purple paint job – a reference to some of the Skyline/GT-R line’s most iconic special editions – and exclusive Mori Green interior trim.

Like the standard 2024 GT-R T-spec, the Takumi Edition also receives several thrilling mechanical enhancements, including GT-R NISMO carbon-ceramic brakes, a gold-painted version of the NISMO’s RAYS® 20-inch forged wheels, NISMO-tuned Vehicle Dynamic Control and wider front fenders.

Reflecting unforgettable scenery
The GT-R Skyline Edition brings the iconic name from overseas to the U.S. and references the abundant beauty found in skylines across Japan. Building on GT-R Premium, it wears Bayside Blue paint and features a stunning new Sora Blue interior color scheme. Once a staple of the car’s color palette, Bayside Blue was “retired” after the R34-generation GT-ROpens in a new tab and revived in 2019 for the 50th anniversary edition model.

Details and pricing on the 2024 Nissan GT-R T-spec Takumi Edition and Skyline Edition will be announced at a later date. Both models are expected to arrive at select U.S. Nissan dealers this summer in very limited numbers.

this is a major day for Nissan fans to have some reflection . First alluded to back in March by the Japanese market announcement but officially announced for the US today. R35 production will end this fall after 17 years. Its been a hell of a run and this GTR changed the industry forever. So honored to have been there from the start and even made a career out with NAGTROC in the US. With the next GTR almost assured to move to a solid state battery the Z will be the last of ICE Nissan sports cars
