Mr. Mac, is this the actual dimensions of your build? I have a buddy with all the woodworking equipment and he can replicate your enclosure for me.

I currently have one JL Audio 10TW-1-2 in my Titan and it's impressive, I can almost hear how good your enclosure sounds 🤣

Regarding the signal tap at the OEM Bose amplifier, do you think this connector that I make for Nissan Titan with Fender is similar looking to the connector on the Bose amplifier?:

It's the top connector I'm hoping is the same, the bottom two aren't relevant for the Z. The upper one is fairly typical on newer Nissans, it's to grab the line level and remote turn on from OEM infotainment (at the amplifier connector, not behind the head unit), if it works with the Z I might be able to offer this for the Z guys..... After confirming it on an actual Z
I would use this diagram instead. I also included the supportive top panel shown in updated photos >>> https://www.nissanzclub.com/forum/attachments/mac-z-enclosure-pdf.29091/

And yes, the two 10TW3's in that enclosure powered by a VX1000/1i monoblock straight up boogies in both SPL and sound quality. Tight, deep, rich, articulate bass for days. Way more than I'll even need, even when playing the most bass-deficient recordings.

Regarding the interface connectors; I wouldn't know if that would work with the Z. If it doesn't and you're looking for a plug-n-play solution rather than tapping the specific wires, this is available aftermarket >>> https://www.owc-upgrades.com/produc...io-interface-harness-adapters-platinum-series

The adapter for the Titan is 40-pin, seems the Z has a different connector. Oh well!

Thanks for sharing your project, I used to build custom enclosures years ago, fortunately I have a friend who can do it for me. Before I saw your setup, I was considering a JL Audio enclosure. Glad I found this thread!

No sweat. Happy to help. I think you'll be pleased going this route, especially if you also value hidden, stealthy type installs that slam. Make sure you bolt the enclosure in like I showed in OP as that solidly couples the enclosure to the chassis, making the bass performance even more visceral and defined. Good luck with the project. Post up some pics when you get her done. Would love to check it out. Cheers!

Update to stealth enclosure design since system was first installed. Redesigned the support frame around subwoofers to accommodate an extended trim panel that runs entire width of cargo area, tucks under interior edges of trim panels, and also now has supports over the subwoofers themselves with just enough space for maximum excursion. This way any heavy luggage that may be placed on top when covered by factory cargo carpet mat won't sag where voids under carpet mat used to be with original design.

@Mr. Mac this is an incredible build. Thank you for taking the time to detail it out, provide the specs, and pics, and reply to all the questions in this thread.

Do you have any issues with heat/overheating the amps while covered up with the factory carpet?

It's been a while since I've been in the car stereo game- I see that there are no capacitors in your design. Are caps a relic of the past, or is there some reason or consideration that means they aren't necessary here?

Any chance you could please relink this file? Can't seem to download from your previous link:

@Mr. Mac I am looking to upgrade my system but on a budget. I was wondering if you could point me in the direction of speakers that would work with the factory amp. I know I have seen a post here about it but I cant find it. For now I am looking to upgrade the front doors and dash. Then do like some others and install the JBL bass hub in the trunk. I plan to do a full build in the future but just looking for something better than what we currently have. Oh and I drive the 24 performance with the blows. Thank you.

Thanks, and. no sweat. Happy to help when/where able.

No overheating issues at all, not even during long roadtrips when listening for hours. Not only is system running nice and easy, there's also plenty of air space around sides of amplifiers. Also no need for capacitors. Even when running full-tilt boogie with bass-heavy music the voltage is rock steady and no lighting dims at night.

Regarding the enclosure plans; That link is in fact still working. Just verified it. Is it possible that you tried accessing it while not logged into forum? I know being logged out that can sometimes remove access to certain links. Give it another whirl, and if still no luck just let me know and I can DM it to you.

Hi. Unfortunately I don't know any of the specifications of factory amplifier that are critical in pairing aftermarket speakers with, most notably impedance for each channel. You could place a multimeter on each factory speaker though to find out what they are which will at least aim you in right direction as matching impedance is most important to avoid potential damage. Maybe someone else here who has successfully gone that route of just replacing speakers and powering them with factory amplifier can chime in.

Thanks for your reply.

Hmmm... not sure what "account upgrade" means, but no problem. Will DM you plans here in just a bit.

I’m taking the Z into the local gurus next week for some initial scoping. Although I have the necessary tools, experience and motivation I lack the time to undertake this task so I will outsource that. It will be interesting to see the cost estimates. As an aside, Nissan have already said they won’t turn off the ANC and ASE, which I had predicted. It’s irrelevant as it will be bypassed anyway (and I have Carista for my Beemers, which can turn it off). However, annoying and I believe, unprofessional.

Interesting that different dealerships say and charge different prices. I took mine into a Las Vegas dealership for the recall and they did mine for no charge.

Also would love to get that sent to me! Or a image uploaded perhaps 🤔

not quite full SQ but the shop I work for gets me a stupidly good deal on the new Kicker LX series amp, so I’m about to order the 1300.7 since it has time alignment and dsp features, and will allow me to finally have an active setup on the front dash speakers + has settings to turn rear channel output into rear fill also.

I have a nice loaded enclosure L7T 12” brand new sitting at home so I wanna either set something up for that enclosure to sit securely under the floor mat, or perhaps dabble in fabricating a setup similar to yours for some floor mat support with a different sub/subs!

Currently have the amp bypassed but with no sub and a weaker 4ch KEY 200.4 amp and need this quality upgrade asap!
