Sorry, too busy avoiding sidewalksSorry but you don’t know how capable the S550 chassis is with Perf Pack and Magneride. Check published test results and track times.

It's the transmission that would concern me. To get the good one you have to spend the big bucks for the Mach 1.Sorry but you don’t know how capable the S550 chassis is with Perf Pack and Magneride. Check published test results and track times.
True the Tremec is way better, but because Ford mounted the MT82 shifter to the body, not the trans, shifting can be imprecise when pushed hard on corners. Many installed like the MGW shifter bracket which attaches to the trans, and shifting issues solved. It's still a very nice trans, just not as good as the tough Tremec. It's the transmission that would concern me. To get the good one you have to spend the big bucks for the Mach 1.

2-3 years ago I almost picked up a 981 GT4 in the $70k's but decided to hold off. Would have been a great investment ?If I don't get a Z within the next 12 months, then only option would be to pick up a prev gen GT4 or GT350 when prices start going back down...Possibly F430 Spider or 6MT 991.2 GT3 if I can afford it
i found out i recently missed out on an nsx for 30k...because i was messing around on this forum waiting on the Z2-3 years ago I almost picked up a 981 GT4 in the $70k's but decided to hold off. Would have been a great investment ?
Frustrating for surei found out i recently missed out on an nsx for 30k...because i was messing around on this forum waiting on the Z
All good choices w/in the price range really. I test drove the M2 quite a bit, also 987 Cayman S. A Performance trim Z will do well against these used examples I think, given the 400hp and some suspension upgrades over stock.Used Pre-facelift M2, M240i, Mustang GT and the Z are on my list.
How does Mustang handle in the canyons and twisties? Is it as good or better than a 370Z?Not too many people know that with a base Mustang GT (460hp) around $40K you can have Ford Performance install at a dealer the Roush Phase 1 or 2 supercharger kits, at 700 and 750hp, respectively, with factory warranty. At these powers, more cooling is needed if want to do prolonged runs but for short pulls, i.e. drags, it's a huge power option with warranty 3yr/36K, plus it's CARB emissions compliant. Check out all the details.
Got it. It needs the $8200 in upgrades to increase the handling. As mentioned above, with performance pack and magnetic dampers the Mustang GT can slice and dice
