Due to new Z has sort of been proved not for the track. Is there a possibility with VR38dett on the nismo trim?

No one but Nissan can really say, but I think it's very unlikely. The VR30 has enough headroom to produce the kind of power levels that a Nismo would deliver.

You can pretty much bet it will be the VR30, which will be perfectly fine for the Nismo.

Every track review I've seen of the Z, the VR30 gets unanimous praise.
Also, the acceleration is very good, trap speed only -1 mph from the BMW.

The chassis is the letdown. It's 20 years old now. I highly doubt Nissan can get the chassis to be truly competitive with modern performance cars. More power=more mess.

With ICEs going away doubt Nissan will invest in shoving in the VR38. I can almost see the Nismo will be just a warmed up VR30 'maybe' with 30-50 hp more. What I want to see is Nissan to add competitive upgrades to the suspension, brakes, tires to handle even the VR30. It's a good engine already, the chassis needs to keep up. Maybe a little better aero to add, which helps visually also. the Nismo will be the last hurrah for the ICE Z generations. I can wait.

Z Nismo will get typically Nismo addons. No new engine; Too much development time needed to drop in VR38 with Manual or even DCT from GTR.

Assume 10-20hp increase due to Nismo exhaust & possible slight engine tuning. But thats it for power.

But I think the weakness is Mercedes 9AT on the track:p

one of the reasons i joined this forum (besides base z starting at $35k) was rumors of the "baby gtr"...

meaning awd, better aero and mo power. the v38 would be cool but highly unlikely, but a hopped up v30 would pull it off nicely...

From what I've heard of the new 9AT, it's nearly as bad as the 7AT.

When WOT, oh yeah it'll rip through gears just fine and give an acceleration advantage, but everywhere else, it's lacking.
Slow to respond to paddles, reluctant to downshift, hunting.....yup just like the 7AT.
