My Z NISMO is here!!! This really feels like the culmination of working so hard for 20 years in the Nissan enthusiast community. Having this car sit right beside the #1 GTR NISMO is just something I'm so proud of. My favorite Nissan I ever owned was my 2007 350Z NISMO. I only had it for less than a year before I left for the GTR world but it's just as awesome feeling to have the Z NISMO back! I enjoyed my 2023 Z and am glad I had it for 7 months as I feel I will have a better appreciation for the NISMO and the differences. Looking forward to something track and autocross next season.

On a related note I figured out to turn it off on the standard Z even though it's not clearly stated how to do so.
Don't forum rules prevent you from saying this without saying how?

Oh my bad ? . so you go to driver assist and turn the emergency brake off. In the 2024 manual it talks about how the pedestrian system is integrated into the forward detection system so turning one off turns them both off. If I knew this I wouldn't have had to pull the airbag fuse autocrossing over the summer.

It does make the pedestrian impact icon stay on the dash though

Well lookee that. It's there in the 2023 manual, too.

@MCN1SMO, I feel like you should announce this as a standalone thread. Folks should know.

Also in this pic you will see fully automatic mode now has a gear indicator next to it

This is cool. I wish my SUVs (formerly Audi SQ5, currently Jag F-Pace) had this.

If you get a chance turn off your traction control next time you are in the Z and see if the collision icon comes on. In the Nismo it turns the system off when your turn off traction control. I don't remember if the 23s did that

Can confirm. When you turn off VDC, the '23 Z automatically turns off AEB.

However, I'm not sure that this also disables the hood poppers.

The manual talks about AEB with pedestrian detection that uses radar and camera (not collision sensors), and the response of this system is to apply the brakes, not pop the hood.

The hood poppers are covered in a different section that says it uses collision sensors (not radar and camera) to activate the poppers. The hood poppers also have a different warning light.

ahh good catch. because when I pulled my airbag fuse on my 2023 that icon pops up

but the 2024 manual says the systems are integrated. so when the pedestrian detection system is off how could the poppers deploy? I would like to know for sure

the 2024 manual had different wording and now im starting to think the pedestrian system isnt the same as the hood poppers so that means its back to the air bag fuse for autocross

Seems like the safest bet.
