From what I understand only base is water. Clear should still be solvent. My friend owns a body shop. He said modern day paint now is garbage and super thin.

It has ceramic coating, which is why I’m filing for the claim, granted its dealer contractor installed but still, I’m not expecting the best thing but it’s free to file the claim and it’s warranty for “10” years, but I just finished a road trip not long ago and finally washed the car the day before yesterday which is when I noticed it
Ceramic coating is not chip protection. It’s basically a high end Paint protection from UV damage and makes the car easier to clean. It’s overpriced for what it is. Really no different that a quality wax albeit it will last much longer. The the universe is full of collisions. Micro asteroids in space pose more of a risk to satellites and astronauts. Dust, rocks, bird shit, people scratching, door dinging, and keys will always find away unless you put ya car in a museum or keep her locked up in a garage.
