How does that apply to what I said?
Because the only way this is got a manual is because it's straight up a 370Z with a new suit - there was no added cost or development because the dimensions never changed.

In order for a Q60 to have a stick, They actually have to do some development and spend money and pay people.

Q50 got a stick in Europe for the base model diesel, because when it's all said and done the Q50 is a warmed over G37 - same dimensions.

They do for a while, yes.

To be honest the new trend in automotive this past 10 years has been "How long can we fool people?"

Look at the C5/6/7 Corvette
Look at the G37/Q50
Fucking Challenger/Charger
The new Mustang will be a "heavy refresh"
The Lexus IS
The damned Nissan Frontier

The list goes on, the Z is just the latest entry.

The reason for this is because everybody is gearing up to go electric, That's where all the money's tied up..... Not enough to go around for new gas-driven platforms
It's ironic. Everyone's trying to pivot to EV. In the middle of a pandemic. Can't get batteries, can't get chips. They should call a 5 year "cease fire" until this all blows over and pick up the EV efforts later. This goes for any pro-EV legislation, it should be suspended until the crisis has ended.

Q60 is a warmed-over G37, which is a 370ZX.

My point was that if Nissan made a VR30 Z, as you said, 5 years ago, they could have made the 6MT available on the Q60 also. There's nothing stopping them at that point. I kind of assumed that they didn't do a 6MT for the Q because they didn't want to bother certifying the engine/trans at that time for a low volume car. There is absolutely minimal investment needed to have a 6MT Q60 if the Z has same engine. What, someone needs to design a shift boot?

Oh, and the Q60 should get the new 9AT too!

Believe it or not, The Q60 isn't as straightforward as 370 to Z or G37 Sedan to Q50.

It's on the FM Platform but there was some tweaks and changes done - one's substantial enough to where it gained almost 500 lb

It gained 500 pounds because of the AWD option.

No, G37 also had AWD. Q60 is *slightly* bigger - I don't know all the specifics of what's different aside from Q60 is a little longer.

There's a good couple of inches more backseat room in a Q60. The hard points are different. The transmission mount points are also different - You have to custom fab some stuff to tranny swap a Q60. Q50 everything pops right in - No custom crap required

so, you are telling me that the Q60 gained 500 pounds over the comparable G37 coupe?

I just checked. CV36 G37/Q60 AWD and 2016+ Q60 AWD are within 100 pounds of each other.

Anyways, none of that has anything to do with Nissan/Infiniti making 6MT available. I feel you are arguing to argue?

BTW, you can trans swap the VR30 7AT into the VQ37 G37/Q60, nothing about the body mounts is different.

Both of you should go check out Concept Z Performance's foray into putting a 6MT into a Q60 Red Sport. There's literally a bit flag in the ECU for that car to select a 6MT. There's even stamps in the firewall to make way for clutch installation. If you watch their video blog, it's quite clear Nissan engineered toward making it available but never produced it with the option. (Likely because a next gen Z went 40 different directions before it ended up actually happening. )

TLDR; CZP has a 6MT in a Q60RS using mostly OEM parts.

Sweet vindication!
