I found some Red LEDs that say they are for the Z. 24 bulbs $6 shipped. I don’t think I need the festoon ones, but can use them on another car.

Probably not fancy or durable. They may need to be flipped around if they don't light. But- At that price, it’s worth a shot before buying expensive ones.
These are what I used someone posted them and I used the same.

Was using these, but I recently noticed (when I went to swap white out for red ones) that these bulbs “stay dimly lit” even when off. I swapped to this brand and it does not have the same issue

I had Diode Dynamics LEDs in my Q60, they only dimly glow for a few minutes.
These cars have electronic lighting controls (that's how they dim-to-off) that "leak" around 1 volt when "off". However, the electronic lighting controls power down completely after 5 minutes and then the LEDs go completely off.

interesting. I thought I could see the dim white light through when I was driving, and then once I removed the cover and removed the bulb it was obvious. I never waited long enough after the car was off to find out.

A much better brand. In my experience… basically they’re quite similar inside. A led is a led. Plastic case containing a diode and a resistor, some have a small capacitor. As it discharges, the LED can ‘glow’ for some time.

The cap stops the ‘flickering’ some people can see with cheaper alternatives.

Looks to me like the lenses & cases on the Sylvania’s are a higher quality than most. So you get what you pay for and the light should diffuse better. As mentioned, Some still prefer incandescent bulbs, or only ‘warm white’ LEDs.
