I have three issues.

1. I need to touch the touchscreen with more authority than I think it should take to have it register the touch.

2. I get a "BLUETOOTH IS DISCONNECTED" error about every 3 minutes on the center of the screen. (It's a Sport, so I am connected with a USB cable.)

3. Lately, when I click the phone icon (FIRMLY PRESS IT) , and I dial someone, the audio comes out of my CELL PHONE. It does NOT use the car's built-in mics and speaker.

Any thoughts?

I've had 3 Z's and my wife has had 9 Muranos in the last 20 years. I can say with authority that Nissan does an absolutely terrible job with their infotainment software and hardware. The hardware is commonly glitchy and unreliable, the software interface is arcane, non-intuitive, and difficult. My wife just bought a 2024 Murano and it's going back this week to get an interface module replaced. My 2024 Z Performance infotainment system is mostly functional but I am so far unable to comprehend WTF is going on with wireless CarPlay, and I'm still not completely clear on what NissanConnect is all about.

Sorry I'm just ranting instead of helping. I will say that Nissan dealer and regional warranty people have been responsive and they do try to be helpful.

For item 1, I think the touch screen is a capacitive unit, so you shouldn't have to press hard at all. Anybody know for sure?

For item 2, are you trying to use Apple Car Play or Android Auto, or are you using the built-in infotainment software? What phone do you have? What cable are you using? I've found that you need a good cable otherwise you'll get a flaky connection. See this thread for a cable that works really well for me. Before this cable I was pulling my hair out, but then I'm an Android Auto user, so your milage may vary.

Item 3 sounds like a side effect of item 2.

Very true about the cables. Apple (don't know about others) is very picky about cables. Cables that might work ok for charging may not work for data. And Apple changes data transmission standards every so often so, I've found, that cables that work OK for data now may not work in the future. Best cables to use aren't those $2 Chinese cable on Amazon, but buying actual Apple branded cables is the true path to success. Other good quality cables like Anker work pretty well too, IME. I've also had pretty good luck with Amazon-branded cables. Don't buy $2 cables on the rack at your local gas station and expect them to work well.

I would also note that on two of my wife's Muranos, she had trouble with the vehicle-side USB ports and had to have them replaced under warranty.

Finally, I've noted that Apple's Lightning connector-style on cheap cables, that they've used on their iPhones, tends to wear out and become unreliable. Now so far, I've found USB-C connectors to be much more reliable and consistent on my iPad Pro's and I note that Apple is transitioning away from Lightning. The iPhone 15, and the iPhone 16 I bought yesterday both use USB-C connectors, and my Z Performance has one USB-C port and one USB port. Currently, I use a 12-inch USB->USB-C cable for the magsafe charger/mount and the 12-inch USB-C->Usb-C cable for data. I have found Nissan's wireless CarPlay to be a massive PITA. Haven't figured out whether I'm misunderstanding how to set it up, or if it's just another Nissan software cluster-****.

I am an android guy.

It is a semi-crap cable. (Samsung branded. F those guys.)

Think a trip to the stealership is in order regarding the capacitive touchscreen.

It's way more responsive and boots up much faster than Subaru's infotainment systems (At least in the newer Legacy and I assume they use that same system in other cars) and it's better than the one in my 2022 Frontier, which looks almost identical but yeah, it's definitely not the fastest one around. Nissan always seems to be lacking to me in the technology / electronics department from all the ones I have had.

However something I really like about the Z is how "less technological" it is. Seen a few reviews mention this - Saying they actually enjoy buttons, switches and dials to control things like the AC and Heated seats instead of tapping through 3 menu's to get where you want AFTER the infotainment boots up. So I can appreciate that as well - today's world seems very much trying to fix things that aren't broken and replacing EVERYTHING with a touch screen.

Hell my new dish-washer is all touch buttons and I have accidentally started it more than once when opening it just to put a dish in there. My last one that had actual buttons that never happened.

i've implemented this device to use my android,

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09PQ95GY4?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

soo far no issues, and very responsive. i've havent had to bash the screen to make selections, infact, i think it may be too sensitive as i dont even have to touch the screen and it would react to my finger (maybe about .005mm from touching). No delay or anything.

only gripe, is when driving through tolls, the device would bug out, maybe from interference

How did you resolve?

I've been having issues with mine having horrible dial up call quality. Went to the dealership, they taught me how to reset the infotainment system and that fixed it. So I thought. Happened next time, I reset it like 6 times in a row, still having a problem.

Have an appointment to dealership on Tuesday

I haven't noticed an issue lately. Kind of forgot about it.
