So you had to remove the entire center console to get this replaced. Was that pretty straight forward? Was there a specific order you removed pieces in? I was hoping all the brackets and boot would be removable through just taking off the top plastic like it was in the 350z

Then I searched on YouTube to remove the shifter.

I'd probably replace the entire shifter also. I have never kept a stock shift knob though.

Yup! like you said just time consuming. Ended up breaking a bolt for the dust boot cover around the lever had to extract that and replace. After that it actually went back together much quicker than I anticipated. Thanks for the help!

I replaced mine, it was a PITA but vise grips did the trick, also do not just pull on them when trying to break loose, keep one hand in the center as to not bend or break the threads off as I seen some have done, you need to keep the force centered by keeping a hand on the center and using one to break it loose. go slow and it will come slow but surely. I did straighten it as i know it is crooked in the picture. uploaded the final results straight.
