FYI, Black Nismo just showed up here locally, Metro Nissan in Montclair, CA. Salesman who I know called me. I'm not interested, he'll call me when a Perf manual shows up. Hope someone here is interested. No details on pricing.

Anohter jump in the number of available Zs. Not as dramatic as last week, but still more than we've seen in a while.

Updated with data collected on October 13th (compared to October 6th).

Using the zip codes in this V2 area covered map here's a spreadsheet that shows the inventory within the circles (more or less):

Inventory Spreadsheet

The number of cars in the area covered increased from 349 to 406 (+57 cars).
  • removed: 37
  • added: 94
  • highest serial number: 360772

my NISMO is 0577 but the other one I had ordered ( I had to 2 yes lol) that dealer found a VIN for it in their pipeline system and it ended in 1093 but the status of it was still ONS order not serialized and a September build. I was surprised to see them almost in the 1100s this early. my 2023 was a november production and it was 1172 for comparison

I didn't see your car in the spreadsheet. Do you know if it's on the nissanusa.com web site?

If it is, then I think I may need to beef up the algorithm that creates the spreadsheet. The inventory site limits the search results to 120 cars per zip code. Currently I'm searching six zip codes, so I could never find more than 720 cars.

One of the ways to check the quality of the data is to examine the number of zip codes in which a car appears: the more zip codes, the better the quality of the data (there is enough overlap not to miss any cars), but if we start to see a lot of cars appearing in only one zip code, cars might be falling through the cracks.

yes my car was on the nissanusa inventory as of yesterday but it was removed today because it was marked sold. If cars are sold they disappear from Nissans inventory even if they arnt delivered yet

Ah, got it. I'm only sampling once per week, so I could be missing a lot of cars that appear and then vanish.

yeah its possible. I didnt even know this Z existed until Tuesday and I sealed the deal Thursday and left a deposit. this morning it was gone from the search. the other NISMO I had ordered from back in July doesnt show arrival until december at the earliest so its not even sea in transit status yet so it wouldnt show up in the search either.

I have eyes on over 400 NISMOs incoming to the US now through February. If anyone needs help tracking down a color coming to a dealer let me know
I'd jump on it but I know, beating a dead horse, when Nissan decides on a Manual Nismo, I'm game.

I think there must be different ways the dealers mark the car as "sold". My car continued to be on Bill's inventory until it was delivered to the dealer, even though it was marked as sold on the local dealer system. It was held at the port for about a month.

yeah must be. it was just weird the day after I left the deposit it was pulled from the nissanusa site. maybe the dealer has to manually pull it off? I liked seeing it on there to keep track of the ETA. now that its gone I have to rely on the dealer lol

There is a procedure to electronically file a report to the manufacturer that a unit has been sold. It's called an "RDR", or Retail Delivery Report.

Part of the processing of a sales transaction is also to remove that unit from inventory (which includes their website), in part to also advise their floor plan financial institution the car is sold so they no longer pay for that portion the car represents.

"The initial post claimed a dealer in El Monte, California had a $68,500 Z Nismo listed with an $89,995 markup, giving it a final price of $158,495. For comparison, that’s more than you’d pay for a Porsche 911 GTS with a manual transmission. Sure, a 911 is a more common sight than the Z, but come on. Who in their right mind would pay manual 911 GTS money for a Z Nismo?"

Not too much movement this week. Factoid: Over $22.5 million (MSRP) of inventory.

Updated with data collected on October 20th (compared to October 13th).

The number of cars in the area covered decreased from 406 to 391 (-15 cars).
