My cut off will be end of financial year to have the car in my hands. Hopefully ordering it by the end of the week after a delay today.
Fair enough. I don't fancy ya chances man, but power to you all the same. It'd surely be something if you ger your car - once you order it - a few short months after myself. But the plug has to get pulled eventually. Or you may even jag a cancelled order yet. Good luck to ya dude đź‘Ť

Tell you lot what though, the bulk of the protos still not being out is just mind blowing. Back in the day, I'd of never thought we'd face the prospect of being well into 2023 before the flagship run of Zs even hit the roads... performance timeframes are absolutely anybody's guess at this point. April, May, June? Who knows.

"So there is a little bit of a wait required, and they’ve been patient with us…"

Wow. Is that what this wait really amounts to in Nissan's eyes?

Far out.

So let me get this right; since release, call it 6 months now, they've delivered 84 of the exisiting orders and now, the goal is currently to clear out the existing 1200 orders within the next 12 months thus giving people that order today - like @MattJ2020 a 12 month wait for delivery? Is that the right of it?

Interesting that they are now quoting the order refresh date as the order date. I guess in some ways that makes sense. So we've all been waiting the same amount of time. :D :D

So they need to get up to on average 100 per month. That's possible. :)

that's nearly double the best year of the 370Z (745 cars)

whist still in a chip shortage and logistics nightmare.

I'm increasingly thinking I will have a MY24 car and probally a delivery in 24.

Like I've said before I'm in for the long haul and will wait it out but the reply of

“So there is a little bit of a wait required, and they’ve been patient with us… we have customers that understand that they’re not necessarily available tomorrow,” Mr Paterson continued.

proves Nissan is out of touch with its customers, customers have had no choice but to wait or get their deposits back as no one could any type of real information.

Like @morgand said approx 100 cars a month, but it would be nice to know where you sit in the 1200 order pool, you could then make your own estimate about approx delivery.

Maybe even a face-lifted version by then

Yep, this is a load of shit. No one believes they'll actually achieve such a target given the current conditions and previous production levels as @loudsx mentioned.

Sounds just like more fucking games to me.

Not to mention that even my own proto is looking like it's further delayed from Nissan's January timeframe offered at the start of November.

If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's a fucking duck.

So honestly I’m not stressed.
When the car arrives it arrives.

some real world comms would be nice however as I have my eye on another bad car choice and if it will be 2024 I’m keen to pull trigger on that and have some more stupid car experiences.

Now if I can't get the car in the next six months.... what else can I buy?
so that’s the thing

let’s say you want a manual rwd coupe sub 100k

you basically have

a z 12+ months wait
A mustang so with the new model that’s now much more than 12 months wait.
A BRZ and put up with much less power

or go 2nd hand which is a suckers market right now.

and thus I'm not stressed about wait asi prefer that than in USA paying way over retail.

M240i xDrive which will arrive in six months but it's going up to $114k, not a problem price wise but the finance has increased!

I think the Supra just sneaks in under 100k if you pick the GT grade. Apparently an Aussie over on the SupraMKV forums has been allocated a batch number for the 6MT too.

All in all not a great time to be buying a car, but like you said, not much to do except wait.

Yeah, agreed, go the Supra. Stretch ya budget to 110k or so and go new. Think they're going for around that price.
