What vehicle are you currently putting 98 into mate? Surely you will do the same for the Z?
It's a Subaru Legacy from Japan, unfortunately it's tuned for their higher octane fuel, our (BP) 98 comes close enough to avoid pinging/detonation.

Gas in the US is typically a lower quality and octane rating than ours, so as the largest Z market I imagine the tune will be more than fine with our 95 octane.

Yeah, the highest we get at your standard petrol station is 93.
This is not correct at all as it is two different rating systems used between our two countries.

In Australia we use the Research Octance Number rating (RON) which generally goes 91, 95 and 98 Octane.

The US uses Anki-Knock Index rating (AKI) which generally goes 87, 91 93.

87 AKI = 91 RON
91 AKI = 95 RON
93 AKI = 98 RON

Also fuel quality in Australia is pretty crap especially amongst first world countries due to or high sulphur content in our fuels.

Likewise, did some further reading, I didn't realise how poor our fuel quality is here.

This is most promising…..every time another confirmation for July is up I get a little more excited….I’m just hoping it’s true!
It does kinda lines up with what the US guys and my dealer said.
I said to my dealer…how exciting, Australia first for a change.
My dealer said…I don’t think so, I believe the US may still get in a few weeks before us.
Now the US guys say….one per dealership in July before they trickle in.

Difference is we only have 93 dealers, they have over 1000, so whilst they might only get one per dealership that’s still 1000 cars which would fill nearly all orders in Aus if we got the same amount.
I would say they wouod be looking to maximise each shipping to save on costs, especially with prices going up substantially, so really hope what is happening inside my brain is what actually happens.

What a shame it could not show up a month or two earlier, new financial year and the bloody state government has put up all our car ownership fees in WA, from Stamp Duty, to Rego to license, all going up
Hoping it won’t make any or very minimal difference to the bottom line

That’s different to Jezzas dealer who seems to think orders will be filled first.
wouldn’t make finacial sense to only send out 91 cars with shipping so high.
Canadian guys are also saying…no demos
I mean it’s possible the dealer itself ordered one car for a demo and it will come at the same time?.
Also possible our orders won’t come till later, but that doesn’t seem to be the vibe at present

I’m taking the dealers demo car.. they didn’t even know what this car was until I walked into the store.

If this all happens before my birthday on the 23rd July I’ll be beyond stoked.
I’ll buy you all a beer.

This was my dealer specifically, I’m sure there’s nothing stopping the dealership jumping their own queue.

Let’s hope that July isn’t just the media demo release like we’ve just seen overseas.

I’d be disappointed if it is, especially if some dealers are advertising July delivery
