I did call these guys when I found the add and asked how could they be advertising delivery in July when people had pre-orders, the reply ws that they had three unfilled allocations.

Find that odd when allocations haven’t been given yet ( to my knowledge) unless they ordered 3 cars extra…again I would find that odd…. That would set alarm bells ringing
And as jezza said…free offer for accessories that are not in the system yet…still won’t stop me using it for leverage with my dealer though ?

From my understand the are no guaranteed allocation numbers, they can only speculate like us. They place orders and they just turn up when they turn up.

If this is incorrect I'd love to know.

I have no clue…just thought they would have to have some sort of allocation in they system even if it’s ordered, because they would need the VIN??
But I have no real clue, this is just what’s in my head

its a car identification number that is specific to each actual car made it’s usually on the contract, but I’ve never ordered a car ..it’s always been In the dealers inventory, so they already had it.
Once you have a VIN it pretty much means your car has been allocated to you, is made, and is on its way in terms of shipping.
No VINs means the dealer doesn’t actually have any physical car to sell.
id think as soon as cars are made Dealers would have VINs even before they are shipped

Excellent thanks, was hoping that was the case.

I know all about VINs on existing cars, I own a Japanese import, when trying to insure it or buy parts I’m often told that it doesn’t exist.

Don’t know if you guys saw this…I ignored it at first because I watched their video version, but it has some very interesting points…mainly “imminent arrival” and “first shipments will include a mix of both proto and normal coupe” which is a relief as there were rumour of just the proto coming in first allocations

I know…it’s just round the corner
One would think if it’s July they would be either on a boat or preparing to get on a boat very soon, I think shipping is around is 6 weeks ( at least that is what google tells me)
I’m hopping it’s true, but at the same time trying not to get my hopes up in case it’s not.

After all when I ordered back in late March last year they first told me they would be here Dec last year, then Feb, then it pushed out to September ( at which point I started to get very cranky) then came back to July and now there is speculation about delays
Its certainly bern a test in patience which I’m willing to admit at times I’ve lost

Used both 98 and 95 on my old 370Z ran the same could not feel any difference

Surely not!

I looked into it ages ago and from memory the higher the octane rating, the greater the detonation point is, or the fuels ability to resist detonation.

In turbocharged vehicles, such as Sam's, and my own z32, I was advised to always run the highest octane I could, and I'll be doing the same with the Z.

Thankfully, fuel price is not something I think about.

What vehicle are you currently putting 98 into mate? Surely you will do the same for the Z?
