Lets be honest if i walked into your dealership and wanted to be #1 and slapped down 2k more then your supposedly 5k max markup you wouldn’t even flinch to do so or your manager. Thats the nature of this business and it sucks that the usa market has turned out this way. The only thing to stop these things from happening is for nissan to mass produce more units.

I've been in sales for 2 years in May so in the grand scheme of things definitely inexperienced. I was a mechanic for 7 years before moving to sales so that is where the bulk of my experience is.

when it comes to ADM I completely understand why they exist. I don’t dispute them at all.
Damn whipper snappers. All good. I'm going to enjoy my night cap now.

100% would not work that way. I set my system up to not allow that exact thing to happen. If you wish to pay 7k over MSRP I wont stop you but that wont buy you up. I'm at 128 individuals now and 2 grand wont buy anyone up the list let alone that high up. I mean the first 10 or so people set up orders before the car was even unveiled.

On the second point do you think Nissan doesn't want to make as many of these cars as possible? They gain absolutely nothing by withholding units from the market.

This is a good answer, I have had my order in for just over a year. When I placed it only yellow had been revealed.
I loved the yellow and still do, but I would now not be opposed to red, blue or even gun metal ….I’m asking my dealer in Aus what they will be doing but wanted to get your take on it .

My point is after a year, my steadfast…only yellow will do..has become steadfast….only a manual will do but colours i‘m flexible

Thus the question.
How did that go with pre orders? For us in the US you aren't technically locked into something till the order is placed, or till the unit is inbound. But when it comes to pre orders in Aus are you allowed to change the order at any time or up till the order is confirmed?

No you are not, if you change your order you go to the back of the line ….but if they can’t provide what people have ordered they should work their way down the list

So if you do change your order then you do roll to the back of the line. Then just to make sure I understand correctly, if the next car in line doesn’t line up with the order that is next in line they roll the car to the next available individual who ordered that car?

I presume so…this is what I’ve been told by the dealer…however that hasn’t been confirmed as yet
That dosent mean I’m happy about it, and it doesn’t mean I’m not pushing my dealer to think about how they will handle such a situation given i was the first order in my state…see your not the only dealer I give a hard time to.
You think you’ve got it bad, you should be happy your not my dealer.
Having said that I’m the one spending my hard earned money, and as such am entitled to ask questions about how things will be handled, if it’s not to my liking and I don’t get what I want in a timely manor there are other options
People that have handed cash over, over a year ago do start to lose their patience

For the record, my dealer has never lost his temper with me

We all have our own things going on. My remark though I quoted your comment, wasn't centered at you.

I think what this thread needs is a Canadian and Australian Salesperson with some guts on here so us Americans can bash them over things out of their control.

If you think my comments are bashing then you obviously don’t hold much value on your money…as I stated, I’ve been just as tough on my dealer here…80k is a lot of money, it takes a huge amount of time to earn, it’s a huge investment, I’m spending my money…not the dealer
They should be able to answer questions without getting upset. Some things maybe outside of their control If it’s their dealership doing it…dosent mean they have to defend it.

look even the info about mileage to gas was dropped by another poster…

I understand that, I’m just stating the fact…I’m asking tough questions here as well…like I said it’s a lot of money to spend, I want to know what is going on. Particularly as here we have all paid deposits

You completely lost it on West Aussie. So drop the car salesman back peddle. You’re true colours are showing and you don’t like people standing up to your dodging of comments and convenient contradictions.
And for the record, I would call out an American, Canadian or Australian car sales person exactly the same. So that other poster has completely missed the point here.
