That’s why I suggested it. I cant see why it can’t be done, all contracts would still go through Nissan USA right?
They have to enter everyone’s details…how hard it it to put a red flag on anyone who has purchased one
no one should be buying two at present because they are definitely on selling.
So from a legal stand point it just seems sketchy. For starters I completely agree with you that there should be a limit of one per buyer. However it's so easy to work around a system like that. It would attract bad press and those that want to buy multiples will.

Then what about those that need 2 Z cars. I have some shops that are trying to get an auto and a manual to do measurements, scans, etc. for aftermarket parts. Or I have a guy wanting to get 3. One for him, his mother, and his brother. It's such a hard thing to implement properly.

Yeah, I just tuned in to "raffle".

Here in USA Ford has been applying a penalty clause in the purchase contracts of certain vehicles to prevent them from being flipped, I believe they also have a "limit one" clause too.

I don't care about the businesses. One per.

But, a family, just be sure the car is registered to each individual, individually. No joint registration (my wife and I never jointly register a vehicle).

That's exactly how he intends to do it.

Yes…but here’s the thing.
everyine in Aus and Canada have been asked to put in their specific options…in the US I’m sure people have been doing likewise and saying “ no, I’ll only take that colour” but when the reality hits that there are not as many coming as thought, and that because we have been already waiting for a very long time….chances are people become a heck of a lot less picky.

By your method if you are only getting three cars and have 43 people on the wait list, number 43 might get a car because they want Rosewood, whilst number 1 may miss out …wouldn’t it at least be worth calling number 1 to see if they would want a different colour

My point is peoples mind change depending on the situation at hand…even on the forum there are plenty of guys that were set on a particular colour but after seeing other colours are now open to most of them

i still think it would be fair to offer what comes in, on order of your list ….otherwise it becomes like a lottery as to who will get a car, same Situation as the civic
I respect that and will revisit this option with everyone once we know what we can expect as far as inbound units. Till then I intend to still push for getting people what they really want. I want to take care of everyone, especially those that have been working with me sense before the car was even unveiled in August.

So really what you're saying for you it's not an ethical matter. Because you're stating you point blank don't care. I've been on other forums where dealers post. My perspective is you've done a poor job of this when compared to others such as Granger Ford. You were probably better off just not disclosing you were a salesman and representing a certain dealership. Should've just posted as a "normal" person. Now you've sent mixed messages because you're adding personal opinion and business in the same message. Then you're contradicting yourself. Not usually a big deal (hell I do it all the time), but something you want to avoid at all measures when in a business setting. You placed yourself in a business setting, and are fumbling. Don't want to be so critical, but guessing this is inexperience at play.
I've been in sales for 2 years in May so in the grand scheme of things definitely inexperienced. I was a mechanic for 7 years before moving to sales so that is where the bulk of my experience is.

when it comes to ADM I completely understand why they exist. I don’t dispute them at all.

I feel like no matter what this guy says most are just going to bitch and moan and jump down this guys throat
I can only speak for myself….I have only ever been upfront and asked honest questions…things that people want to know
as @siggy said, maybe he should not have disclosed he was a dealer if he didn’t want to asnswer the hard questions.

Im not trying to make trouble (honestly cross my heart I’m not…look at my other posts they are pretty light hearted for the most part) I’m simply asking tough questions, as that is what @McLovin157 said he was here for…to answer questions.

We all already know the same details about the car, estimated delivery, estimated price as he does ( shed no new light on this what so ever) so the only thing left really is the sales and how as dealers are they going to deal with it

what I am asking is honestly what everyone should be asking when selecting a dealer, and if the dealer can’t handle tough questions then I’d find one who can….and that’s not being nasty, that’s being financially smart with a ton of money that’s taken a ton of time to save for

This is a good answer, I have had my order in for just over a year. When I placed it only yellow had been revealed.
I loved the yellow and still do, but I would now not be opposed to red, blue or even gun metal ….I’m asking my dealer in Aus what they will be doing but wanted to get your take on it .

My point is after a year, my steadfast…only yellow will do..has become steadfast….only a manual will do but colours i‘m flexible

Thus the question.

Lets be honest if i walked into your dealership and wanted to be #1 and slapped down 2k more then your supposedly 5k max markup you wouldn’t even flinch to do so or your manager. Thats the nature of this business and it sucks that the usa market has turned out this way. The only thing to stop these things from happening is for nissan to mass produce more units.

100% would not work that way. I set my system up to not allow that exact thing to happen. If you wish to pay 7k over MSRP I wont stop you but that wont buy you up. I'm at 128 individuals now and 2 grand wont buy anyone up the list let alone that high up. I mean the first 10 or so people set up orders before the car was even unveiled.

On the second point do you think Nissan doesn't want to make as many of these cars as possible? They gain absolutely nothing by withholding units from the market.

How did that go with pre orders? For us in the US you aren't technically locked into something till the order is placed, or till the unit is inbound. But when it comes to pre orders in Aus are you allowed to change the order at any time or up till the order is confirmed?
