Am I the only one who's having issues with the fuel reading in the car? I drive it for like a week and try to keep the MPG higher than 30 just to see if the 18.1 mpg (Auto) reading increases, it does but by like .1-.3.

I reset back to zero, it goes back up to 22 mpg on average but then I get like under 300miles range. The highest I gotten was 450m, but it's been consistent to under 300, and I haven't driven it that fast and have been careful with my throttle control just to get a higher range.

I use shell 93, but I also have an issue with the gas tank bar reading not going all the way to full and sits at 98%. I've disconnected the battery when it really annoyed a few times because the mileage also does not change after a while. Me being paranoid in the "past" drove it for 75 miles, refilled the tank and nothing changed.

Can we create a petition to Nissan if it is? It's not a hinderance but just annoying having to manually reset it a few times when it doesn't work as it should. I have a 2024 MT

Mine does not have those issues. I wonder if you could get this resolved via warranty.

Just a thought on the fuel gauge, that's a "1" not a full max line. The bar will never reach the 1 (empty is 0). Threw me off at first too.

Calculate your true mileage by dividing miles by gallons.

22 is pretty good; my best is 24-25. You're not going to average 30 unless you're holding a steady state cruise in 6th gear under 60 MPH the entire time.

I’m hoping it would be a bigger issue, I’ve had others on social media let me know that the fuel gauge doesn’t go all the way to full, but it’s kind of rel

My understanding is that the 2025 model fixed the fuel economy, or improved. I have a 2024 and was wondering if it was an isolated issue to the earlier models.

What throws me off is that I can drive 60 on cruise control for a week straight on auto and the mpg won’t budge, only like .5 or less. I tried babying the throttle and still see no relative change unless I reset when I first got the car, and on my pathfinder it worked like it should, I’m just curious why they keep telling me to unplug the battery to fix the issue.

With that mentioned though I understand the “1” won’t fill up all the way but it’s like 95% close to it with the grey showing empty space, after filling it up with 12-13 gallons per se, or until the fuel pump stops it.
That’s my biggest annoyance, I thought it had something to do with the mpg.
But yeah I would fill it, and see the fuel tank not completely full on the dash, like I just didn’t spend 50 bucks, see the 12-13 gallons, squeeze the pump enough so it doesn’t overflow, turn on the z and see the fuel bar not “full” but also have like less than 300 mpg.

This week and half I’ve been driving miss daisy just to ease my mind on the issue, but removing the battery post and let it reset for me fixes it. It’s just happens like at least twice a month if that makes sense.

What's your actual calculated MPG? I think you may be driving yourself crazy over nothing. The remaining miles is just an algorithm estimate based on past driving behavior.

You're not alone though, I've answered these exact same questions on multiple forums for the past decade or two.

Drive the car and enjoy it! You didn't buy it for mileage & efficiency 😎

A month ago, it was higher than 20, this past week has been sitting at 18, I understand it resets after every refueling, but I think I may be refueling too much under 3/4 of a gas tank or at least under 6 gallons.

So, my thing is, I push the z on a full gas tank, but when I get under 100 miles for range, I try to increase the MPG so I can get a better reading the next refuel, but I was just experimenting this past week and half and was expecting at least 350mi not like 295mi. Huh, I know I'm overthinking it, but what set me over the edge today was that issue I mentioned earlier with adding 11 gallons and not seeing the fuel bar move.

Maybe the car wants me to drive to Austin to get over 30mpg again lol

It's a history based algorithm, it's not taking just the most recent one current data.

Every time I fill up I manually reset all the MPG data to include both trip odometers. Since new said data has always shown 1 to 1.5 MPG better fuel mileage when compared to the calculated method. On the rare occasions I keep the car under 75 at a steady state I'll see the high 20's. Anything less than that will return 30+mpg. I bought this car to enjoy it so typically I see the mid teens to low 20's.

sorry for the confusion, so just to clarify, the fact that fuel tank bar not moving is not dependent on the mpg correct? Thats the massive issue I’ve been having, usually, when I refuel on a tank halfway, the bar will stay in the same place it was before refueling.

I unplugged the battery and the fuel reading moved back to full, however that’s when I started digging into the mpg like we discussed earlier. When I refueled it a few days ago, of course it went to full now, but starting 299, after 235(granted it’s 260 when I took the pic) the tank’s still reading full if that makes sense.

I was just curious if all that affects the overall driving history with giving the incorrect fuel tank estimate. That’s the only gauge I wish it wasn’t fully digital

The fuel bar isn't calculation based so I am wondering if your tank sensor might be stuck or dirty? That is an issue you definitely should have the dealer address under warranty.

I agree. I have a 24 performance 6mt and I avg 21 to 22 mpg per tank. I also drive 80% city 20% freeway but I also am in Los angeles so freeway is just as bad as driving city
