Really glad hearing these nice inputs about the Nismo 9AT, shifting performance in Sport and Sport+ seems to wake up the automatic Z. I know the suspension tuning is good for track, good reviews. Good overall package and prices have dropped.

Is the Nismo AT transmission tuned differently than the Performance and Sport’s?

I am glad you enjoy it. I also got the dealership call to upgrade to the NISMO but the automatic is major downfall to me.

I was wishcasting they would hear us and give us the manual Nismo this year.

The NISMO is so precise that a MT would hinder what the Auto does for it's performance. IMHO

Not to me, I love my 24 Performance 6 MT and the color combination of the interior and exterior is about 4%. Plus the money invested and it should be paid off within the next 12 months.
Your assesment is so accurate. I've noticed this. But know I know that if I want a snappier shift, I would have to drive the rpms higher. Thanks for the input.

I could never sell or would trade my manual for an automatic period. A lot of folks have to talk themselves into liking it for whatever reasons. Nissan truly dropped the ball when They didn’t have a manual option in the NISMO.

Maybe ,Maybe not. I will say the MT experience is wonderful, truth is the AT is super quick.

Maybe maybe if the Z came with a DCT, more direct quicker shifts, it would get more buyers, and more accepted. Couldn’t Nissan adapt the R35 DCT? I’ll still keep the manual period, it’s the total driver engagement over slightly better straight line performance.

I can tell you that if Nissan decided to get a Nismo MT out, I will trade mine.

Most definitely. They behave completely different. The Nismo is basically what everyone expected the Z to be. What many are trying to achieve with aftermarket additions.

if i was going to spend $60-70k on an A/T, i’m not sure it would be a Z - i would look hard at the IS500.

but I would have jumped on a nismo m/t Instead of the perf.

I wonder if anyone complains that a Porsche Cayman, 911 having the PDK 7-8 speed is not a good thing. I am really perplexed as to why the beat down the automatic which is designed by Mercedes and built by Nissan. Anyway you like what you like. I still love mine. :)
