Floaty feeling in sweepers?

Hello all,
Considering buying a performance auto & on brief test drive, the car didn’t feel planted very well on 60 mph sweepers.
Is this normal?
I know the suspension is fairly soft but I’m hoping this isn’t normal & maybe I was imagining it….
my guess is that maybe the tires were left over inflated during PDI.
Don’t know but appreciate any input,

It's the prime reason I bought a Nismo. The other 2 down trim models are definitely tailored towards comfort and livability. It's my personal opinion that the only real "performance" model is the Nismo.

I admittedly didn't get too far in the test drive while in a Performance. The BRAKES are the travesty in that car and I can't abide how those are from the factory, so I turned around and said, "I can't do this, let me try the Nismo." Bought it.

Brakes felt fine for me for street driving but I’m hoping the floatiness was a one off situation & not the norm on high speed sweepers

When i test drove a Standard Z , that's the first thing that struck me !! Floaty, Soft and imprecise!!
Nismo was in another league .......much , much better!!

Yeah, here in Aus we only have the "Standard" Z ( Sport ) and the Nismo.

Try and drive a Nismo....you will be surprised as to how much better it is!.

Swaybars and chassis braces cured that for me. So much so I ended up never installing lowering springs.

Agreed, I had replaced the coil overs with Nismo units and lowered the car a bit. Also had put wider tires and better rubber on it.
But when I switched front and rear sway bars, the car came alive.

Felt the same.. Performance stock felt floaty. Once I put on coilovers, the Z came alive and now feels planted.

For me, adding coilovers was like turning the light on. Anti-sway bars made a difference but not anything close to what coilovers achieved. From the factory the car felt floaty, and the chassis was easily upset by any uneven tarmac in any corner. After coilovers the car felt confidently planted. I haven’t even added better rubber yet and with coilovers and an alignment I was able to hit 1.2 G’s. I’m guessing after some real tires the car will again feel transformed. If you really liked the car but just don’t like the floaty feeling, just pick one up and add decent coil over suspension and you won’t be disappointed. With a little bit of love the performance will out do the Nismo.

Coilovers and sway bars easily solve that, along with proper tires and alignment of course. Once I had that done to my Performance MT it actually feels better than my NISMO.

That’s great to know & reassuring.
Did you replace both sways & What brand did you go with for those & the braces, Nismo?
I try to stay OEM+ if possible unless there are way better aftermarket choices, but some are complete garbage.
I’m guessing you replaced your tires too?

I'm still on the factory Bridgestone tires...for now.

I did the Stillen front & rear swaybar set since they retain the stock end-links, bushings, & brackets for a perfect fit while remaining 100% streetable with no noise, squeaks, etc. Aftermarket replacement bushings & brackets are when you start getting undesirable noises from the suspension and require frequent re-greasing.
