According to the Nissan infotainment software update utility tool we use from Asist for audio updates, none have been released yet. Possible just different versions between the two model years.
So, the 2024 has a different infotainment system than the 2023? What upgrades might have been applied that would require a different software version?

The reason I persist on the subject is that IMHO Nissan is pretty well-known for klunky and "less-that-optimal" software interfaces in their infotainment systems and I think that many of us are kind of hoping that one day they'll roll out an interface upgrade that will be a little more user-friendly.

I wish they would optimize the activation and video stream processing of the rear camera via update.

I suspect that that’s a hardware limitation rather than software-dependant. On my 370Z I recall that I could get into the camera firmware, but would only allow me to change field of view. Nothing to do with resolution or frame rate.

Thanks for the updates (get it? 😂) @PsiloZ.

Do you know if there is a way to update the main digital gauge cluster? I want that outside temperature display that the 24 models have.

They did add wireless Android Auto and CP and Alexa.

That might be a hardware and a software upgrade. But maybe just software. Didn't the 23s already have wireless Car Play? I'd think the same hardware would work for wireless Android Auto.

Yes and no. Overall the unit is pretty quick and responsive. The way it handles the video stream is the issue.

Alright guys, there has not been any audio software updates released yet from Nissan on any year or trim level Z. Sorry guys, if I notice when one rolls out I'll try and update.
Keep us posted. I would like to know how to update mine through USB

Yes...the video stream at the size of the Z's display is a LOT of data to write. Lack of processor capability will cause the issue you describe. In software, they could change the resolution at the cost of frame rate, or vice versa, but not both. That's a processor limitation.

I'm curious what hardware upgrades were applied from 2023 to 2024 models that the 2024 requires a software version that the 2023 apparently can't use. My guess is processor upgrades, but it doesn't appear that has improved my backup camera. Likely that's separate from the infotainment system and the hardware is integral to the camera itself or maybe the display hardware.

Well everything else renders fine with the same screen size so I don't think it's a processor limitation. Take for example the raspberry pi's. Depending upon which GPU driver is used, just screen rendering performance alone will be affected on the same hardware.

🤷🏼‍♂️

Of course, processor demands for rendering video are completely different than static graphics. Anyway, I suspect that the camera video hardware is separate from the infotainment stuff. I think it's unlikely that we'll ever see any upgrades to any of that system software, based on my experience with Nissan infotainment systems over more than a decade. That stuff is definitely not a Nissan priority.

Anything IT-related is never a priority in the auto world. Except for Tesla.

Hence the different software version.

I don't think there's wireless CP for 2023 version.

I wouldn't know as Canadian version doesn't have it at all.
