What is getting done to these cars in California? My window sticker says final assembly, Los Angeles.

Just curious.

Thatā€˜s the shipping port that the car was received into the US. The port also has the ability to add options often referred as ā€œport optionsā€.

My Z’s ā€œfinal assemblyā€ was Brunswick, GA.

Nissan adds several port-installed options (PIOs) to the Z for the US market, often bundled as packages or accessories like Nissan USA dual racing stripes, Z center caps, front chin spoilers, rear spoilers, splash guards, floor mats, vehicle covers, cargo nets, and dashcams, enhancing appearance, protection, and utility beyond the standard features. These are dealer-installed after arrival, offering customization on top of the factory trims (Sport, Performance, NISMO).
Common Port-Installed Options & Accessories:
  • Exterior Enhancements:
    • Nissan USA Dual Racing Stripes (various colors)
    • Nissan USA Chin Spoiler & Rear Spoiler
    • Nissan USA Z Center Caps
    • Nissan USA Splash Guards
    • Nissan USA Clear Hood Protector
  • Interior Protection & Convenience:
    • Nissan USA Carpeted, All-Season, or Premium Floor Mats
    • Nissan USA Retractable Cargo Cover
    • Nissan USA Z-branded Owner's Manual Portfolio
  • Technology & Safety:
    • Nissan USA Dual Camera Drive Recorder (Dashcam)
    • Nissan USA Interior Accent Lighting
How They're Added:
These items are not standard factory features but are added by Nissan's port processing centers or at the dealership before delivery, allowing buyers to personalize their Z with functional and aesthetic upgrades.

It’s a work around from getting taxed by your government so you (Americans) won’t complain further regarding the price of stuff you buy.

Is that an insult you're throwing at Americans?

Nope!

It’s smart of Nissan USA to do, so the only complaints are about mark ups from dealers! Hah

At delivery, my front flexi lip and rear leading splash guards were in the hatch, I told them to not install them, which I plan to do on my own but never did. That lower lip will get beat up anyway, no use.

They're for installs just in front of the rear wheels. Splash guards, fairings or ?? who knows the real useful function if any.

Has anyone gotten the tax documents from Nissan yet? The link I get goes to the null javascript link.
My sticker on the car has LA as the last assembly point, but the VIN decoder for NHTSA shows Japan.
