Exhaust tip smudging has stopped

2024 Performance, Mishimoto CAI and Stillen Tru Control are the only mods, 7400 miles.

In the past after spirited driving, my tail pipe exits would have black smudge on the bottom of them.

Today, I spent about 4 hours on private property drag racing from dig to 120mph +, roll racing, doing burnouts and some very amateur donuts.

Really drove the car hard.

Not a single black smudge on the tail pipes. This is the first time this has not occurred.

Anyone else notice their Z stop doing this? Is it a mileage thing? I checked the oil, all good, did not move on the dipstick all day. It stays at about the 3/4 mark.

I actually have noticed mine is less as time has gone on. I think I am close to 11k miles on mine. Yours are much more shiny though. I need to clean mine again.

I clean these when I wash the car, and (unscientific observation) I think I've noticed less soot as well. Age of the car? Summertime gas formulation?

I spray it with ONR mixed with water and it wipes right off.

Edit: the exhaust tips. I haven't tried the intake valves.

Nuh Uh I have a mishimoto catch can. I don't really consider that a "mod" but since it adds 50hp and keeps the inside of the engine perfectly shiny I guess I should list it!

Well I used to just wipe them with a dry paper towel, it comes right off. But I don't think I need to do it anymore, yesterday was the hardest I've ever treated the car, if it was going to soot that would have been the day.

I use mine as a daily driver ... I took it for the wash and ceramic coating update on Friday.
Not a fun drive home ... K-rails on both sides and a monsoon rain.
Saw a truck on the opposing lane push all the water onto my lane ...
Let off the gas, held the wheel and prayed (I am an atheist) ...
I apparently lived through it ...
So, now I know how to unsoot and learned I need to drive the sh*t out of it more!

You know what they say, there are no atheists in foxholes, crashing planes or newly detailed vehicles heading into dirty water...

Filtered water, microfiber clothes and a bit of garage time ... I am good with --- hitting an oncoming truck on the left or the k barrier on the right, not the best option.
I am good with a few hours in the garage rather then the ER or with the coroner.
