Newly installed Invidia exhaust does have a noticeable drone, not unbearable. Weird thing is that I got less drone with the Spooled resonated LDPs, stock manual mid pipes, and EOS muffler deletes. THough that setup got real loud at full boil high RPM pulls.
I had and Invidia system on my z33. Was nice and not much drone. Car was catless too.

HKS Super Turbo hands down imo, no drone at all and what a nice sound it makes, yeah its not loud, it's exactly what you hear on the video. Inside the cabin you hear a nice note from the exhaust, it's such an elegant sound, and you can't beat Japanese quality!

My issue is that I want my exhaust to be stupidly loud with valves open and silent with valves closed.

My m4 was exactly that so trying to match something similar. Was stupid loud with valves open and then a great tourer with valves closed.

Gonna be adding some butyl mats to my hatch area to try to kill some of the road noise too so I'm hoping that will also help. And if the tips came out further than the bumper I'm sure that will help too. Beyond me why they couldn't bring the exhaust further back on the Nismo bumper

Fair enough, it's not for me after my GR Yaris Titanium XForce exhaust that doesn't STFU at any rev range, it's loud and has so much drone it becomes annoying and valves aren't an option for me either too much wiring and more weight.

Xforce by the way have a valve one that on the cheaper end.

Not sure what exhaust you're referring to that doesn't come further out, the factory one?
If so yeah that's a joke of an exhaust, it's just like the one in the GR Yaris from factory it sounds like a gapping asshole fart.

Not too worried about the monitoring side. Just have been told by a tuner that the ldp can cause overboost since there's a large change on restriction with that
No issues with boost - my boost gage on the dash jumps to and sits at 15psi

Yeah talking about the stock exhaust. It looks like it sits an inch in from the end of the Nismo bumper

Yes it’s so short, Nissan didn’t bother extending it no idea why, even HKS made two Super Turbo editions one for the Performance and another for the Nismo.

The Nismo Track is made by Borla, who markets it in house as the Borla ATK. No drone and it’s designed for the car, can’t go wrong there.
The NISMO Street is exactly what I was looking for. Not too loud but something you can hear when accelerating and harmonious, more exotic sounding. In my opinion, it should have been the exhaust on the stock Z to begin with.

I put the Nismo Street on too and agree, it should be stock. It will “behave” or sing depending what you want.

Yes, indeed. I'm really glad I went with the Nismo Street. I didn't want a "hey, look at me exhaust!" that's so loud it pisses off my neighborhood and serves as a "mating call" for loved-starved, racket-making Mustangs. I loved a Goodwin Racing exhaust I had on a Fiat 124 that really enhanced the sound of the car and heard nothing by good comments from others when they heard it. The Nismo has been the same.

Do you have any sound clips of it?

None I've personally done but there are videos online, of course. Here's one.

Also, there are the usual limitations of how it sounds in the online videos, versus in person, and differences in personal perceptions and preferences. For me, it sounds just a tad louder in person, at least on my Z, especially with the window cracked open. ;) It's nowhere near ear-rattling, though. And, of course, it's always best if you can listen in person, though it may be a challenge to find a Z close by, let alone one with a NISMO Street mod.

the awe touring is super quiet through the neighborhood and flows well on the dyno.
Agreed. I have no issues firing 'er up at 6am and leaving the neighborhood in a reasonable manner. Most trucks in TX are much louder at start-up.
