Well, looks like I need to get these bad boys installed. What did Racebox charge you to install? I have a local shop, and they want $400. I would do myself, but such a hassle. Also, when are you getting a tune?
Absolutely, get 'em done! I was tuned yesterday, too :)

I'm likely going to pick up those B6A lower downpipes. I actually just sold my Raceramps to the guy that owns B6A so it'll be an excuse to go get the pipes too. Has anyone installed LDP themselves? How much of a pain is it? The uppers sound near impossible but I'm hoping lowers should be fine.

In all seriousness, I had no clue you could do LDPs without a tune, which is why I'm interested in this now.

You can do LDP's without a tune, but some folks say it can lead to over boosting, which the stock ECU programming will try to compensate for, and lead to an eventual check engine light, and extra stress on the turbo. I plan to install my LDP, (Spools) and run it for a few months, since it's just a weekend car, then when I get the itch, will probably get the tune just for peace of mind.

Are you doing the Spool resonated or non-resonated? I wasn’t familiar with Spool at all and their stuff is crazy on sale at the moment.

I went with the resonated ones. A few of the forum members have purchased them, and have been very happy. So, based on the price I gave them a shot. They are sitting in a box, waiting for install. I need to find a good place in Florida by me to install them, I don't want to take this on myself.

Where in Florida are you? I’m in Cocoa Beach so let’s find a place that does group discounts 🤣 In all seriousness, I know a few places in Brevard that will do them.

And agreed - I just went through this thread and it’s hard to ignore everyone’s very positive comments on Spool.

Oh yea, that's right! Autoworx in Melbourne, FL is first on my list. They did my ceramic and spoiler install. They're on deck to do all of my Mishimoto parts and likely the downpipes as well. However, I have my Quickjack now so I'll at least take a look at it myself.

I just messaged him and he’s down to do mine. If you do reach out, let him know that Liam sent you.
I looked them up, they look like a detail shop? I guess they also do this type of work? Can you PM me what he quoted you to install?

B6A was my plan as well until RaceBox pointed me towards Spool (nice being able to pick stuff up locally)...and I saw their current pricing! I don't think you can go wrong with either brand from what I've seen. B6A uses larger resonators so perhaps their premium price would be justified for someone ultra concerned or sensitive to volume level.

Both match well to the stock upper downpipe outlet flange then transition into a full 3" at the resonator. Both now also have mounting brackets (B6A was originally 2.5" w/o brackets but they've since revised to follow Spool's design).

No pics...but they fit fine without issue and the AWE Touring remains aligned perfectly. No rubbing or rattling. Most importantly, no complaints on the install from RaceBox.

Spool 3" resonated LDPs, which seems to be who RaceBox is now recommending since their shops are only about 10-15 mins from each other. I told them about the local ceramic coating shop I used, too.

Yes, but not obnoxious. I am happy with the volume level but wouldn't want anything more. My wife definitely noticed the change right away.
thanks - wife is why i purchased touring over the track
