Ever since an old lady in an SUV ran a red light when I was turning left at a green arrow in my Rogue a few years back and the Cops just didn't give a crap and gave nobody a ticket I have put a dash cam in all my cars.

I like Garmin and got the DC47 and installed it into my new Z about 2 weeks ago. The long cable tucks under the trim super easy and I love that there is an aux power plug right under the glove-box. I got the extra wire tucked under the hinge of the glove-box behind the actual box too so you can't see the wire at all unless you look really hard at the bottom of the pillar on the passenger side by the windshield.

Basically the same in my Frontier but I have it plugged into the USB-A port in the center console directly so you can see it all there.

It's got a super easy app to use and I like that it shows speed and location - also that you can turn off sound recording. Nobody needs to hear what I talk to myself about when I am driving.

I have a Thinkware dual channel (front and rear glass) in my Cat. First one lasted (3) years and broke, replaced with newer version. I ordered the FACTORY option one for the Z - for the price I thought give it a try and it will be covered by factory and extended warranty. I think it was $350, for that price why not. Not sure if it is front and back - we'll see.

I thought about getting the one from Nissan too but ultimately decided against it because of price. Just wanted something kind of simple. I think the one from Nissan records the cabin too - something I don't really care about.

It does record the cabin - not thrilled about that - but it will pick up whats happening through the rear glass.

Throwing my 2 cents in here. If you live in a hot climate, avoid cams with a battery in them. Here in AZ, they wont survive a single summer if you park your car outside. Instead, look for super capacitor cams, like Rexing. I also have the Dongar adapter and make install super quick and easy.

I'm currently running a VIOFO A229 Pro, and it does a decent job. However, I just ran into an issue with the micro SD card failing on me. It constantly beeps, telling me the card is slow. I've tried formatting it with no luck. It was a Samsung 256GB Pro Endurance card. I just ordered a SanDisk 128GB MAX Endurance. Hopefully, the new card won't run into this issue within 30 days of use like the Samsung did.

I hear ya. It's crazy how the different speeds of the card can affect things. I definitely prefer Sandisk over Samsung too. Hope it works out for ya!

I called Nissan Queens to get a quotation about the Nissan OEM Dashcam it’s 800$ (for the installation) + 350$ the Dashcam … ?? about 1200$ with taxes…. Crazy!

Avoid the OEM 'drive recorder' if you can. My car came with it and it has a laundry list of caveats that in addition to the price, make it an absolute pain to deal with imho. The app is a pain to use and very clunky/slow, the camera only supports a 16gb card max, the wifi connection to the camera via the app isn't super stable when you are trying to connect, and it's just very cumbersome in general.
