I pay attention to relative costs, but I don’t think I’ve paid attention to the actual prices in 20 years. Some people enjoy tracking it and I totally get that. There are a lot more things in play the most people really think about. For me it was just worrying about money and between having a better situation to afford it and bigger problems, I don’t pay attention anymore.

What I do find interesting is driving down the road and gas is $.50 cheaper/gallon just because I was paying attention. With premium gas the swings can be pretty big.

Now that I think about it, I do still pay attention to 100% gas prices. I have several stations with pure gas and e85. The e85 is very interesting the relative pros and cons, as well as the extreme gains from running a tune with e85. The GR86 is quoted about 230 hp at the crank. With simple intake and catback exhaust upgrades it goes from feeling more like 240 stock to 260. That’s butt dyno. I have heard people get around 290 with e85. 290 in that car would be insane.

I havent noticed people doing e85 kits here. Is that a thing?

To play along here are the lowest PREMIUM prices around me in east TN right off of I-40. Exxon and Shell are at $3.59+ which is typical here, very dumb and greedy with anything name brand, even gutters and house paint. It’s weird.

I’ve been a Chevron/Shell guy my whole life, but Buc-ee’s gas is cheap, fresh, and reliably water-free. I do use a bottle of Techron every 5,000 miles to compensate.

Filled up last week at $4.999. The most convenient to and from work is one of the highest in Tallahassee though. Assume average was probably $4.80-$4.85. Can change in an instant, so not sure what it is now.

Never even traveled to or through California, but from all the data I’ve gathered, the California gov’t hates its residents.
