I recently bought a 2024 Nissan Z Performanc. The dealer had tire pressure set at 29 for rear, 32 for front. on the long drive home, the rear were 31, front about 34.

The door sill sticker says 29 for rear, 32 for front.

Googled “tire pressure for 2024 Nissan Z” and it says 35 all around.

ChatGPT says “
For the 2024 Nissan Z, the ideal tire pressure is marked as a general 35 PSI. That guidance comes from Nissan-specific resources like a January 2025 tire pressure guide, which lists 35 PSI for the Z model .

That said, always verify the exact “cold” tire pressure specification printed on:

the driver’s-side door jamb sticker,
and/or your vehicle’s owner’s manual. Manufacturers recommend following the pressure shown there over third-party sources

So what is it?

I would follow the posted tire pressure on the door Jam cold 29/32 psi for performance trim. ChatGPT is limited as of now.

Its not. I have seen many owners go slightly higher on most occasions.

To each their own, some owners think they know more than the manufacturers who designed and built it. I guess some of the reactions were because you looked at the door jamb sticker and still wasn’t satisfied with the obvious answer.

My last few cars required 35 and 36 psi. I googled and it too said 35 psi And so got confused.

Recommended pressures can vary even between tires of the same size based on the construction of the tire. I’ve never run a tire With an AR of 45 or below under 32 psi, but doesn’t make it wrong. From what I know 29’s on the low end of the typical range, but if it’s formally recommended by the manufacturer it shouldn’t be a problem.

’24 NISMO shows 33/35.
Leaving the dealership they had it at 38/41.

when does the low PSI warning hit, and is it different between models? I think both 350s it hit at 29 or 28. Hopefully the alert is adjusted a bit if they’re recommending 29.

Truth be told over 90% of all cars driven are at 35 or so. Maybe not.

I had upgraded the tires BEFORE I picked yp the car. I went with Michelin Pilots which may or may nit have made a difference.

I hate to say it, but don’t trust a lot of dealers. I’ve had services done and when I got home checked oil and other fluids and they were too high or low. Here’s another example took my Z to get a service including a tire rotation. I drove to my son’s house and he told me something was off we looked again and they had put the front tires in the back. I normally check oil tires etc before I leave the premises, but I was in a hurry. I learned my lesson once again always check your vehicle before you leave so they can’t deny it. The point of my story is just because the dealer said it doesn’t mean it’s right and I normally go with what’s in the owners manual or door jamb tire information sticker.
