I know it’s difficult to translate the actual sound, but it’s seems car still has cats and the valve closed is a joke and the open is not unique or even that great sounding

That’s why I’m seeking someone who had first hand experience. I like that it’s muted when closed, I’m not someone who likes an always noisy exhaust, and I hate raspiness and droning in a street car, this one sounds (from limited exposure) to sound deep without those issues.

No, the Sport trim doesn’t sound as good.
I say that as the stock Automatic Sport exhaust system emits more sound than the models with the suitcase style mufflers. It is somewhat along the lines of the NISMO automatic system perhaps with different diameter piping. It is pretty much perfect for my taste, not too quiet but no drone either.

That thing sounds quieter than my stock Sport exhaust when its valve is closed, and when the valve is open it sounds obnoxiously bad. I'd say my stock Sport Auto. exhaust has a better sound when that system has the valve closed. I think that exhaust is too loud in the open position and it isn't a nice sound. I suspect droning would be present when the valve is opened if it is that deep and loud from the exterior, I don't like the sound.

my 27 Performance sounds just fine to me but Im an old fart if it matters.
Me too! lol. That’s why I’m so particular, I also don’t mind the stock Performance trim sound. But so far I really like the AWE Touring.

Trim doesn't matter for the exhaust system, it's the transmission choice regardless of trim level. Manual transmission gets the large single muffler while the automatic gets the smaller resonator version.

This is due to the regulatory decibel testing method on manual transmissions vs. how it's conducted with automatics.

Ah okay, yes I have the Sport Automatic, so I have the smaller resonator version, along the lines of the automatic NISMO perhaps with different sized piping, but the sound emitted by my Sport Auto is damn near perfect.
