A quick search yielded no results and I can't find any aftermarket sites with battery relocation kits.

Kind of surprising considering the weight distribution in this car.

Is it not a "thing" anymore to move batteries to the rear?

I thought so. It is a semi-easy way to change the balance of a nose heavy car.

Interesting...I had no idea that that was a thing. Battery location is an important consideration in my airplane because center of gravity out of envelope can kill ya., but I've never paid attention in my cars. Maybe something to consider if I raced it. For everyday driving, I can't imagine that moving 25 lbs front to back would make the slightest noticeable difference in handling. That's about 3.5 gallons of gasoline.

Another option is instead of relocating the battery just swap to a 51R series battery. A standard 51R battery only weights under 30lb, if you get a fancy one it will be lighter. The GTR uses a 51R from the factory so im sure the mounting hardware will probably work with minimal modification in the Z.

The battery is behind the engine against the firewall. That is not a bad location. Relocating to the back would put it inside the compartment so you would need to do something to protect it and that would suck up space with I think little return.

I would just go with lightweight battery if you cared that much, like D2M says. This it the battery in my 124. But that car weighs 2400lbs and the battery is up front. I don't think I will bother on the Z.
