Anyone's Auto Z behaviour change when the car can't recognise a speed limit?

Something I noticed a bit strange. In my Nismo Z when the car cannot detect the speed limit it seems to rev/stay in gear longer.

I.e sport mode, 3rd gear 4k revs, doing 60-70km/h.

When it detects the speed limit is 70km/h, as soon as I get to around 70 it will upshift and sit 1500 revs unless I'm foot to the floor.

Coming from a manual 370z I am hating how the car is trying to be fuel efficient all the time. Even in sport plus, it will try and be fuel efficient when you're at cruising speeds.

Am I losing my mind here? Lol

Not sure I've noticed this. I tuned off all the speed limit assist and other stuff like that. I'll check into it and see how my settings are, and report back later.

maybe it's done in an effort to be more efficient on public roads as opposed to track use? no speed limit on track = more spirited driving?

I think from personal experience it has to do with Transmission Temp and the way of driving, when the trans gets up to temp it is holding gears longer in general, and naturally going 70 cruising the shift logic will just adjust to that, if it’s sport plus it would be different. And again the modes learn your driving style.
Any more info would be greatful.

That's a good point. I didn't pay attention to transmission temp. Will take a closer look today and see if I noticed differences. I turned off the speed limit tech the other day. Might be placebo effect but I noticed a slight difference in rev range. Although maybe transmission was warmed.

That's interesting. No telling how many speed signs I've pasted at triple digits. I did notice a difference, the car wanted to go faster.

What is speed limit assist? My speed limit is controlled by my right foot. Do't lie the cars around me, press the Lous button and I'm quickly doing 90 (note to police: this is just talking, no actually speed limits were broken) .
