Hello all,
First post from a soon to be Z owner. It's been over 30 years since owning a Z, and one look at this new RZ34 - I was sold!

I have been researching about tuning and lots of content is out there for the VR30DDTT. What about the 9 speed automatic? (The Performance Trim - not Nismo - I know it's programming is much faster)
Can it be tuned to perform/shift more quickly/aggressively?
I can't find any information in here or out there regarding this. I would be mostly using the paddles and I would like it sharper.

I tuned my 2012 Challenger SRT8 a couple of years ago. The A5 transmission went from sluggish to spectacular just with a tune (HemiFever Tune). I know the A9 is no ZF8, but anything to wake it up more would make me happy.

Any information would be appreciated.. thanks in advance.

From what ive been seeing the z1 transmission mount will help, but apparently theres a lot more vibration in the cabin.

The A9 on the performance is pretty darn fast as-is. One of the reasons there is no manual Nismo is because Nissan said the A9 Perf would be faster than a manual Nismo and they didn't want that.

I am no connoisseur of automatic sports cars so don't take my word for it but from the ones I have driven (mostly Corvettes / American), the new Z is one of the fastest.

From what I have read, the auto in the Nismo has been tweaked and upshifts/downshifts much quicker than the auto in the Performance.

yes you can make the trans and shifts a bit faster with a tune.

On my 23 Performance the shift from 1st to 2nd is delayed, it is almost embarrassing how delayed it is from when you pull the paddle to when the shift happens. I have resourced to shift as soon as I step on the gas.

If a tune fixes that I would be happier. It reminds me of my ex 2015 RCF, same thing on the ZF tranny.

And yes the tranny on the Nismo seems to be tuned more aggressively for what I have seen on online reviews.

I'd love a trans tune on the performance. Per the above comments the first few gears take foreverrrrr once you press the paddle to it actually shifting. It just hangs out for like a second and then shifts.

Drove a buddy's supra, and couldn't help by be envious of the shift speed of the ZF8.

About the delay in shifting do you experience delay with full throttle?

Definitely driving regularly, like cruising around town. Whenever I do full throttle stuff Im already like highway speeds, so hard to say, will have to try, don’t drive this car on a regular basis.

Ok that makes sense. I too experience delay driving around town in manual mode. I think the delay is normal since the engine speed is too low to get an instant shift. When I was at the track with my Z the shifting was pretty solid and instant depending upon throttle level. At full throttle the shifting is almost snappy.
