I apologize for going off topic , so which tires did you end up replacing S007s with? Plus I feel they are lacking in traction as well. Mine is still in break in so I have to live with them for a bit. Thx

What are you doing with your Z?

Track, AutoX, Mixture of Street + Track, etc. Multiple sets of wheels? This changes what tire you should use.

I track (70%), street (30%), so I personally use Yokohama AD09s on stock size, especially since I don't have a square set of wheels / tires I can swap.

Consider reading through the Grassroots Motorsports track tire guide, this page has great information on different use cases related to whatever motorsport you're into / hybrid use.

Excellent tire! I have always like Yokohamas. I will probably go with the Michelin
pilot sport after the stock tire is done

Good to know you muscled those terrible S007s over the three sessions, they were not happy, way slippery. Nice feedbacks, though, informative video clips! Plus I'm surprised the stock brakes and fluid did surprisingly well. I will be at Firebird raceway, AZ, in a couple of months, assume will be much hotter. For sure I'm addressing the pads (Carbotech) and fluid (Motul) plus RE71RZs just to be on the safe side. S mode will be switched off, and I don't like that over-sensitive rev-match, will work the pedals myself.

Excellent choices in terms of quality, especially with Carbotech and motul, RE71RZ and RS’s will be such a potent catalyst for the Z, especially after the S007. Have fun at Firebird raceway and let me know how it goes! And in terms of braking and tires, share how they hold up on track, I’ve been looking at pads to get after they inevitably waste away.

I sure will, pads I'm using are XP12/XP10 ft/rr.

Are the stock pads that bad? I did read some stories that the original pads cracked under track conditions . What brand are your brake pads? Sounds like I will be having to upgrade to them.

At least for the Performance, yes.

Stock pads on track, they aren’t “that” bad. But it’s certainly not a specified compound for track. I was fine on them, toward the end of each session faint brake smell, but much better than anticipated. Especially given the heat at 84~F and high speeds (130+) and in my case 140+ into a 60-50 MPH slowdown, they held up. Though once they wear XP10’s and 12’s are favored.

I will probably stay with my stock shocks and I’m a little surprised owners actually have to upgrade to better suspension. I guess they are fine for road handling. My 350 never felt like I it needed any suspension tweaks. Extremely well balanced .

Stock shocks and pads, I did just do solid subframe and solid diff bushings.

I just had taken mine out earlier this morning and I shut off the S mode as you mentioned. I definitely like it better especially in down shifting into turns. I feel it lets me feel how the car is handling all around. I was wondering if you use BG products at all? I always used them to clean my intake on throttle body in my 350. Amazing results especially after around two oil changes. Since the newer Z is Direct injection I have not heard of a way to spray clean the intake valves and by pass the turbos to avoid damaging them. Have you experienced any maintenance videos for the Z? Thx
