I was hoping for an early June for the early preorders. The online pre orders in august?
Yes I was referring to the national online reservation list, not the dealer preorders.

I don't think comparing production numbers to a vehicle approaching its end-of-life cycle (one that a lot of people argued was very outdated a few years before they stopped manufacturing it to boot) is a good way to compare what we could expect for a new model. And, as @Donalex said, the Z is a flagship model for the brand.
Agree to some extent, but the new Z is far from all-new so I think its sales longer-term may be more dependent on review judgements than would have been the case with an all-new car.

Someone posted on the Z facebook group that all of this was just speculation and not an official timeline from Nissan.
This would not surprise me at all. So much misinformation on the web.

Here in the Chicago area with some high fuel taxes, petrol was $4 at the pump yesterday. I read somewhere the new Nissan Z would get an estimated 20/27 city/highway mpg. I think that was conjecture based on how the engine does in a current vehicle and some other criteria.

I don't see this Ukraine situation resolving anytime soon, at least in terms of overall Russia problem and related oil jitters. So mpg could be a factor for some people planning to drive the Z a lot.

Here in Aus it’s $2 a litre so that’s like 1.46 us a litre so what’s that around $5.04 us per gallon regular also

Really going for the "Hey June is still technically spring" release if they get them out by the 21st approach huh? Unless this is to ensure a large number of cars available to meet demand, and thwart mark ups, well then I'm skeptical. I will be test driving a M240i in April, we'll see how it goes.

Nissan is dragging their feet unless they come out and say what I was hoping this strategy is.
I was thinking of the M240I as well until I found out they are built in Mexico. Plus no manual option and right now is only all wheel drive. I had a 335Xi all wheel drive and hated it. It won't let the rear step out if you want to have fun.
