New member from the Middle TN area, picked up a red nismo and liked the information available here so I had to join!

Don't have any great pictures yet, but this is from Driftwood Beach, GA on its first road trip, at about 1k on the odo.

Hello. I bought a Sport AT in two tone white. I may buy a Nismo if Nissan gets it together in the next few months. This is my new car #30 and I enjoy the Japanese muscle approach to the Z. It’s an awesome car.

I’m not the type to spend the money on a car that sits. One would think it’s me if anyone, but with a wife 10 years younger I always have this thought in the back of my head that I have a threshold for a level of fun that actually adds to my life to spend money, and beyond it I have responsibilities that make it wasteful. As much as I want a Nismo, it likely won’t happen. I’m still debating it though lol.

I am very good at getting deals both ways on cars, so my fun is focusing on affordable cars and trading frequently. I will say that I paid $38k for my Sport and wouldn’t have given the Z a chance at MSRP. Now that I own one, I’d pay MSRP. It’s a fantastic car. The build quality is much higher than I expected.

I had the option to get a gray manual Sport, but it just didn’t feel as quick and nimble. I had this AT in a Pathfinder Rock Creek and it’s a great tranny. Probably the best AT I’ve ever owned actually, but 90% of my cars have been manuals for the past 36 years I’ve been driving. Yes I’m 52.

My first car was a 1979 5.0 Capri with an engine built by a guy who built Winston Cup engines for the Waltrips, and others. I then got into several VW GTIs and raced the ‘92. I’ve had 5 Civic Si coupes, 2 Accord V6 coupes, a 2019 Type R, 2015 Mustang GT, and lots and lots of others. My wife has a 2016 Murano Platinum and refuses to let it go. 90k miles and only needed a battery. I do the maintenance myself including brake fluid, power steering fluid, etc. and even just recently did a complete CVT service dropping the pan and replacing the internal and external filters. It had a dump and fill at the dealer at around 40k and the fluid looked good at 90k. The external filter was nasty. Did it’s job.

On this Z I installed my radar detector and will put some better speakers in. May even do an amp. I noticed the 19 and 20 inch rims are 27” diameter with tires, and the Sport is 26.7”. The next size up is 27” so I’ll get some Michelin all season Pilot S for the stock rims and find some 19s to put summer Pilots on. Window tint soon if I can find a place here in TN that isn’t a total ripoff. That’s about it. I like the exhaust as it is.

If anyone knows a person with a GR86 I have some great parts I need to get rid of. My 2024 that I just traded was my 2nd GR86. They are incredible little cars and I’ll probably buy a keeper before they’re gone. But honestly I’d way rather have a Nismo. We have a new track being built here in Cumberland County and I would love to have a powerful car to run there.

Anyway, happy to be here. Take care and be safe.

Hey everyone! I, too am a newbie around here from Canada! A new Z owner, and, in fact, this is my first ever Japanese car (which even surprised me when I thought about it) - Actually, I bought this car, and a winter car (a 2010 WRX STI Hatchback) at the same time, so I bought both of my only two Japanese cars at the same time.

I'm super excited to spend time with this thing, and I have big plans for it, because I intended for this to be the first car that I actually start modifying. Daunting, as modding cars myself is not really something I've done too much of before. I know a bunch of things in theory, but know absolutely zero in practicality.

I had a photographer friend come with me to do some photos on the first day, so just sharing a couple for you all.

Just wanted to formally say hi to everyone. Been a Z fan for a long time. Pic below is when I traded up the 370Z Nismo for the Z Nismo. Must admit it was bittersweet to say goodbye to my beloved manual transmission.

Do you miss your 370 at all or are you totally happy with the new Z?
