Thanks for the add.
Here is my BananZ, Acquired 2 months ago with 34km on the clock.
First time Z owner but always liked them, particularly the old 240Z.
I have owned an R33 skyline in the past and while looking to get another I realized the price of those old cars is just crazy and went with a new car with warranty and mod cons instead.

The new Z in the most retro 90's looking car that can be bought new and ever since the proto was announced I've been excited by the idea of possibly owning one.

So I finally made the decision and when I went to test drive, to my surprise they had a Proto sitting in the showroom.... It was fate I guess. Haggled price, and signed the papers that day.

Hello!

I picked up my new Z Performance a couple weeks ago. Funny story actually. When the configurator first came out, I was looking for a new car anyways. I put one together on the configurator and went to my local dealer in Vegas hoping I could order one. The dealer laughed and told me only if I am willing to pay a 20k markup. So I ended up walking out and buying an M2C. Fast forward to recently I found one at a dealer an hour away from me near Milwaukee. It was the exact spec of the car I originally configured 2 years ago and under MSRP. So far I love the car, though haven't driven it much due to snow here. It's also my first new car as all my past sportscars I bought privately.

The car came with a couple of parts that weren't installed at the dealer. What looks like some sort of front lip? And 2 air diverters. I pulled up the part number of the air diverters and it looks like they go right in front of the front wheels. The lip doesn't have a part number on it and comes with weird mounting hardware I haven't seen before. Is it worth installing this stuff?

Yes the two small parts go in front of the wheels. Is the other piece the entire air dam? I say get your dealer to install them all.

I’ve on been to 140 on the track and others say they help over that.

Congrats.

Why the decision to trade from supra to Z?
Main reasons:
  • Softer suspension
    • This is my daily driver. I'll never be on a racetrack. The stiffer suspension on the supra was fun for a couple years but I was ready for a change.
  • More spacious cabin
  • Android auto (supra was apple only)
I may be in the minority on this one, but I like the interior much better, too. Both the feel and layout appeal to me more than the Supra. And the body lines, to me, are more classy than the Supra. I feel lucky to have had either car, as they are both great, but for my current lifestyle the Z has me 😍

Oh and one more thing! From what I can tell, the Z community is way friendlier. I found I couldn't post anything about my supra on supra social groups without getting shamed or laughed at, and it happened to everyone... That absolutely sucked.

This forum is a little slice of Internet heaven.

When I bought my '23, the Z's look was definitely a factor. I'm with you there.

New Z Performance owner here! Traded the supra in last week. No regrets so far! Loving the car for sure.

I have this affinity for how the Japanese never take the human element away from enjoying and contributing to the control of the auto. It may not accelerate as fast or switch to nanny controls for a perfect response to diverse and challenging road surface but we have analog throwback visceral auto performance machine that allows you to control and learn from it. The Germans are super technical with making it easier to control a performance auto but the human is negated. Great choice.

welcome and congrats! You won’t get any hate here!

Any plans for mods? I don’t know why but I thought the silver came with the black roof…

I think exhaust and intake will be first. You can get this color with or without the 2-tone roof. I would have liked that but this one was at a dealer 10 minutes from my house. Had to pull the trigger!

Not sure if it is minority but I know there are a few of us here who definitely prefer the knobs and switches inside the cab and less soft-button / touch-screen.

The mix of modern and retro / old school both on the exterior and the interior I think is what drives a lot of people to the Z. It was a big factor for me. You will hear people say when they go to Japan the culture, architecture, food, people... etc is like a mix of history and the future at the same time. I believe the Z is no different this generation.

A real JDM sports car that can be your daily or your track ride.
