I hope they make it. If not, it won't be because of me. Lord knows I have bought plenty of them the last few years.
Me too.

Nissan is too big to fail completely and it has enough brand recognition to aways exist in some form. the merger will probably happen and at the worst nissan could be relegated to fewer specialty models to fill a niche within the larger company. So yes they could be the Buick of GM but they wont disappear

This is what I'm thinking... someone will pull an FCA, get rid of the models they don't want, reposition the ones they do, and have a nice sub-brand. Then they'll screw it up and Nissan will get spun off, hopefully they'll be able to buy themselves back.

But.... I don't understand why they just don't sell some of their holdings and get liquid, stop production and fire everyone that had input in the models that undersold expectations, lower production on the models they want to keep and fire unnecessary staff, concentrate on quality on those models and take 4-5 years to come back stronger and wiser.

Honestly... my only real bitch with Nissan is that the Z doesn't have remote start and heated steering wheel (since it has heated seats). The financing going through an outside lender and getting hosed on the rate is a dealer issue. Everything else is personal preferences.

@13:30 If Honda, Nissan and Mazda formed a Trifecta, that would be awesome. I think its time Japan ditches Mitsubishi, they're a company that I don't see lasting in the future

Although, Mazda is already in a alliance with Subaru and Toyota, one could dream haha

i currently own 4 toyota's and 2 mazda's... this is why i havent bought a nissan in a while.

i hate that mitsubishi has been on a downturn for a long time. have many fond memories of the both (96 & 98) 2g eclipses i used to have and wouldn't mind having a gsx right about now...

This is such a US-centric take. The rest of the world exists, and Mitsubishi is doing pretty okay for themselves.
Funny, im not even american ?

I had friends whom had the Evo's 5,9 and X. All of which were a blast to be a passenger in. If I had to buy either a Evo or Sti, it'd be the Evo. Its just a shame they killed the Evo and made the eclipse a crossover SUV.

Now, Mitsubishi barely exist in Canada, and their vehicles in Australia are pretty much re-skinned Nissans

My wife had a 91 Eclipse GTS. That car was so much fun. Turbo and torque steer! Also had a black roof.
