Today I picked up my Z Proto after having it at a workshop (for way too long) getting a custom dyno tune done using ECUTEK software. I originally dropped the car off 3 weeks ago and there was a delay in ECUTEK sending the required software across (apparently ECUTEK need to send a unique piece of software for every car/ecu?). They said it would probably be 7-10 days and I could take the car home in the meantime but as the workshop is a pain in the ass for me to get to I told them to hold onto it until it was ready. It ended up taking ECUTEK two and a bit weeks to send the software, then a day for the workshop to do their part. It was ready on Saturday but I couldn't get there until today to pick it up.

Anyway, the gains seem quite significant. An additional 89Nm of Torque (18%) and 40kw (53hp) of power (15%). It's now putting out 300kw (402hp) at the crank. The only other mod I have is a HKS dual muffler cat back exhaust.

In the graph the torque appears a little choppy but he said it can look like that because their dyno hooks up the the crank directly rather than having wheels on the rollers. I don't really understand but the delivery when driving doesn't feel choppy at all. I haven't driven it much yet but if anything the car seems to hook up better than it did before despite the additional power and torque.

The cost of the tune was AUD 1,995 or USD 1,350. I think bang for buck you will not find a better modification.

My policy covers mods unless you do something significant like add a supercharger or convert it to AWD or something like that.

Some pics from the dyno. Wish they got a video for me. These guys have the cleanest workshop I've ever seen. Not just the dyno room, but the workshop itself is spotless.

The pics in your second post show a hub dyno not an engine dyno which hooks up to the engine's crank/clutch & flywheel

Awesome gains! Using those percentages... the factory power 298kw -> 343kw and torque 475nm -> 561nm would be felt!

I haven't really had a chance to stretch its legs but low down torque is noticeably stronger which feels great.

Does the power feel evenly distributed throughout the powerband? I got mine dyno tuned by AMS last summer. The Torque/HP gains are impressive however for whatever reason the car likes to stop around 5/6 k then go. Very strange hesitation

It's very smooth - no hesitation at all. But to be honest there's so much torque around 3-4k I rarely get to 5/6k.

My Fiesta ST got a hesitation after an off the shelf tune with no dyno. It's pretty annoying.

Has anyone with a MY24 have issues getting their ROM unlocked? Couple weeks ago, I went to get my Z tuned, only to hit a brick wall. Just like the Supra, Nissan has locked the ability to tune it until someone unlocks it.

Tuner said to check back in a couple week, months? or if ECUTEK has it figured out he'll get back to me.

No rush, as i'm getting the last bits of upgrades shipped and installed. I would just hate to have the car ready to go, but not drivable

I have a question about the HP gain because I am thinking of getting my Z tune with ECUTEK.

What does all these numbers means from you because this is all new to me:

Anyway, the gains seem quite significant. An additional 89Nm of Torque (18%) and 40kw (53hp) of power (15%). It's now putting out 300kw (402hp) at the crank. The only other mod I have is a HKS dual muffler cat back exhaust.

I see you wrote down 53hp, does this means with ECUTEK, you will get 53hp gain? So your Z now has a total of 453hp with ECUTEK? I thought with ECUTEK tune, you will get 100hp gain. And your Z should have a total of 500hp with ECUTEK tune.

It really depends on the power mods you put in ie. Intakes, Down pipes, Exhaust, Fueling System, injectors, plugs, bovs, etc etc etc.
