while I agree with your logic and presented that weeks ago once learning about the NISMO ECU application in japan...... to answer why it would be auto only with no power in a hypothetical


they could still use the auto only route to make usage of the Sport + mode that changes the engine responsiveness and power steering feedback more aggressive than the current sport mode.

on the other hand I dont know if the sports resetting actually increases the power rating but only changes the curve?

I realized a linear acceleration feeling.
In addition, by improving the accelerator response in the low and medium speed range, you can enjoy a sporty acceleration feeling when starting or accelerating. (For AT vehicles in SPORTS mode)

so only works in sports mode. is it possible NISMO just adapted this ECU settings for the production NISMO and we are getting a more "peppy" feeling Z with more throttle response and thats it?

I was wondering about that - i know it was mentioned in a previous article that the Nismo would be auto only; but I was hoping they would keep it a 6MT as an option. It only being an auto while it is a beautiful design for this gen Z - kinda makes me do a pass (not that I could afford it after you throw in the crazy ADM haha)

also you can see the alcantara accents on the sides of the steering wheel

But going to your earlier point - the 370z recaro seats also have a pass through on them as well so - to me they are slightly remodeled 370z recaro seats; they are really nice don't me wrong but they are the same to me.

Feels like we’ve been waiting forever for this, definitely excited to see the reveal ?, though trying to stave off the cynical thoughts about price, performance, no MT, ... lol

If it actually puts down competitive track/lap times, and the Sport mode is tuned to be more responsive & fluid, I personally wouldn’t mind it being AT-only.

Not necessarily a bad stock seat to reuse, though hopefully the Recaros this time around come in the full set with the seat bottom too, not just the seat backs like last gen

While I definitely agree Nissan has 'sh!t the bed' on the release; I do feel between all the financial issues, the CEO mess of a situation along with COVID and shortages; Nissan was trying to do too much with not a lot of financials to actually provide us the Z we all wanted. While I do love the new Z - I just feel like this is a bargain bin sports car (not that its a bad thing); personally if they could figure out how to get the current power to the ground efficiently - along with adjusting some of the MSRP price - i feel the reviews would be much much better.
