About 13 new Zs showed up in inventory in my mostly US West Coast search. I'm sure hoping this isn't the total delivery from the Emerald Ace. If it is, it doesn't bode well for getting this car this year.
WA in the US is different to WA in Aus ?

Wait. What?

Seriously, @West Aussie was saying no new Zs in WA AU. I'm thinking that the ship heading to Vancouver (also not US) isn't going to be carrying much either.

Every time I get a glimmer of hope, I try to dig up some data and find that Nissan disappoints again.

I was trying to poke around on the CA (Canada, not California) Nissan site to see if I could build an inventory spreadsheet, but there's basically no data available.

Then I decided to check the AU Nissan site, and I don't even see an inventory feature at all, unlike the CA site that has it but shows no data.

Do other manufacturers let you search inventory in AU?

Not to my knowledge.
All inventory is stored on dealers system alone. The only place remotely like an inventory tracking system is the third party “car sales” where most dealers list their available cars, but it’s dependant on dealers listing…which in this care will be unlikely due to the popularity of the car and all cars currently arriving being allocated to customers

Yeah, the CA website allows you to search your "build" once you're done build/price in dealer inventories, but the search always yields nothing lmao

Most of the newer companies do like polestar and Tesla.

the bigger ones.
Still old stealership model.

Yeah that’s a problem. Figured I’d see how much. Could perhaps bundle
It with a few other bits and pieces.

Also not sure if I need full cat back or just Y back for the sound. I’m not too concerned about getting more power.
I ordered the genuine Nissan cargo net from them on the weekend and it arrived in Perth already!

I also like their Z1 wheel package. Just a bit more offset to bring the wheels out a little. As spacers are illegal everywhere in Australia, finding wheels with the right offset isn’t that easy.
As soon as car is confirmed I will start with the suspension first and order the front and rear sway bars with new front and rear end links. postage for this is $269 USD to NSW. Not to concerned about the exhaust sound for now.

another day, no news.
Well, I got a call from the management team today…but no more news than I already knew. Cars made waiting for shipping.

He said quarantines into Melbourne is an issue, I said my cars coming in direct to Freo and there is no issue there….he didn’t have an answer to that ( and confirmed I was right)
He said they had part issues, I said the BRZ was announced after the Z and they are being delivered…he had no comeback.
He said they are struggling to get cars in…I said dealerships are now full with unsold cars whilst sold ones are stuck in Japan and maybe they should prioritise current customers…he said he’s not sure why they don’t

I said Nissan Aus has had our information for two years and we had to confirm said info a number of times, so why can they not use those emails to do a group email out updating customers with issues and apologising rather than the continued push back to talk to dealers who do not know anything and are getting hammered for Nissans incompetence…he said I’ll pass on that feedback.

I said the time for excuses are long gone, most dealerships now have vehicles including Nissan, that if I order now I can have a BMW Z4 by September, I could have already had a MX-5, BRZ, or Audi had I ordered 7 months ago

If he thought he could fob me off with the same standard excuse he was wrong.
He had nothing …other than…we are trying our best to get the cars out to you.

I told them their best isn’t good enough

Again…this was from the “management team”

I think the quarantine excuse is B/S, I'm pretty sure I read that cars from Japan were not affected

I say it has nothing to do with Nissan Australia - more Nissan Japan and the lack of communication. NAU can’t really be blamed if they’re not told anything or have no info and the clients (us) assuming they know everything and trying to squeeze and answer our doesn’t help. It’s better they say they really have no info instead of trying to comfort clients with “something”.
