so these past few years have really been crazy because of various car launches gone/going wrong. ive narrowed it down to the top 5 ive seen mentioned over and over again.

which car disappointed you the most and why? who will be top on the list? adding a poll to see which car gets that honor...or should i say dishonor?

Ford Bronco.

Amazing in this day and age, Ford actually delivered a for-real ladder frame rugged removable top/doors 4x4. With a manual trans option. And in a 2-door version. And at a 28K base price point!

I was very happy. Ford delivered big time pretty much exactly what I wanted. By now, I thought I'd be driving up some mountain trail in one ... until it all went to sh*t.

Delays, production issues, ADMs, big spenders and flippers. A mess. Nice vehicle but the rest, what a disappointment. Hope Z doesn't go that route.

Rivian may be rare and expensive, but they're out on the road. There are two in my neighborhood. Can’t say the same for the Z. I know the Z isn’t out yet and that’s sort of the problem. And when it does…no one will actually be able to buy one. I predict I’ll see more Rivians than Zs.

But the Integra gets my vote. It just doesn’t seem sporty enough. Doesn’t matter how well/quick the release is if the product is somewhat boring.

I disagree on the expensive part. It's more that it doesn't seem like anyone but Rivian employees have taken delivery of one as of yet.

i was gonna initially going to have the bronco on the list, but apart from being able to find one and crazy price, it got a lot of great reviews and most owners seem to love them.

i actually entertained the idea of getting one for a dd, but scarcity and ridiculous asking prices turned me back to a sports car even though the bronco would have been a more practical and mature option.

heck...maybe we can add it to the list ?

that price hike they added hacked some people off. iirc @trackratZ had one on reserve

this launch broke some hearts for sure...
I had one reserved from months ago, Adventure pack quad motor with camp stove for just over $86K but the company still scares me per their ongoing production and battery issues. Have to see when their Amazon delivery trucks are actually on the road, then I'll have more confidence. The ones driving around are employees and mostly the Launch edition (olive green).

About the most disappointing launch so far, let's see.....the Nissan Z.

Had one stalking me today ;)

The Z, too much hype, too much advertising when there is simply no car to buy.
The money they spent at the Super Bowl, was a waste because it seems like a lifetime ago.
But what makes it the worst especially for those in countries that have orders in and money down, is the complete lack of communication …or conflicting communications.

For instance if you ask six Aussies when the first drop is due, you will get 6 different
answers….and when a company has been holding 4K of your money for over a year that’s simply not good enough

There's a lot to like about the Bronco. Ford could have gone the GM Blazer route (typical SUV), but instead Ford delivered a legit open top 4x4. In my opinion a worthy successor to the first generation 1966-77 Bronco. I'm just sore watching people pay 20k+ ADMs, to drive this limited supply 4x4 to the grocery store wth.

WRX.
Other than offering the wagon as a CVT only, and the hideous black wheel arch flares on the sedan- not offering an STi was a bullet to their brand, IMO.

*Story time.
My first car was a Hawkeye WRX, which I owned, loved and daily'd for 8 years.
I actually planned on buying a new STi this year- until June last year, when I found myself looking down the barrel of replacing a second EJ25 within 125xxxkm.
The disappointment I feel now, waiting for the new Z is nothing when compared to the disenfranchisement I feel with Subaru.
