I don't recall mentioning you name. You must feel Guilty I would like to hear the conversations when your salesperson closes the door on the managers office.

Look I didn’t want to cause trouble…was only asking real questions about how the dealerships will handle things…I’m hugely disappointed that it’s turned into this, was never my intention.
Therefore I have discovered there is an option to ignore posts by posters and I am going to use it

it’s not like we are getting any information here anyway, and I have enough in my life to feel bad about other than a dealer in the US who dosent want to answer honest questions, that I have appeared to upset.

For the record I’m sorry if I did upset you, wasn’t my intention …but I’m not sorry I asked what I did, because anyone sprnding a huge chunk of money should be asking questions…and lots of them. I feel any dealer who was here for the right reasons would have been open to any questions, especially as that is what @McLovin157 stated in his first point.

for now I will, hit the ignore button.

You don't have to apologize for asking questions. What was bugging me is the back handed comments that are uncalled for from multiple people. Constructive criticism is something I invite, we learn from our mistakes. However comments like " look even the info about mileage to gas was dropped by another poster… " what does that accomplish? I commented on the thread stating how I wish I had been the one to post it here but I was beaten to the punch.

If I repost that information here it turns into 1. why are you reposting information here, it's in another thread your just trying to draw attention. or 2. See you don't have anything important to post here because you can't even get this information out.

What OP posted on FB yesterday.
As was to be expected. My dealer is getting upwards of 10 but they represent 5 dealerships and funnel the GTR/Z through one and Q50/Q60 through a second. It is a hard business to be in right now.

Better to under promise and over deliver. And not the other way around. I thought this thread went pretty quiet after he announced the 100+ wait list he was assembling from hopefuls across the country.

Hoping to move some of the units coming to our sister stores but that will depend on what we can trade for them. Honestly I just really want Nissan to allow us to place orders for the Z and not wait till 2023.

I can imagine everyone would be wanting and hoping for that. It is a difficult time post-pandemic economy though to be artificially and prematurely raising customers hopes and then not delivering on them. Keep in mind customers have all the clout...it is their money that fuels all of this...and they won't soon forget hasty proclamations. There is a lesson for all of us in this supply chain mess.

Let's see, Hype up the Intro for a new model and then only be able to provide a few cars for a select few. Doesn't seem a Good Way to stay in business. Better be charging like Ferrari. I don't think they are doing it to make the dealers rich. Why would they do it if they didn't want to supply it. I understand the supply chain right now but I truly believe they want to MASS produce these.

Exactly, I don't think they anticipated the supply shortage correctly and Marketing just continued Blasting ahead.

It seems several think Nissan is throttling production on purpose.

That would be the dumbest corporate decision of the century.
I don't think Nissan is a silly or brazen as Toyota here, who is notorious for their "make one short of needed" BS.

The only reason I can think that they would do this is they believe we are heading into a economic collapse, or they believe the car market is about to bust with people not able to or willing to pay ridiculous prices especially when their stealerships tack on ADM. Or they believe the Fed is about to push interest rates to recession levels.

You completely missed the point yet again about integrity. You beaked off, got a list of over a hundred and found out you’re only getting two cars. Your customers know more than you do about the Z. And good customers with money will. Because good dealers have real connections and real information and will call those customers.

The thing is, the decisions on how many Z vehicles can be produced, have largely already been made. Meaning, Nissan execs sat down and forecast demand, considered target production in terms of cost/price to produce, and assembled the production line accordingly. While there is some flexibility, Nissan cannot simply produce more Zs if the demand reaches a certain level, without incurring significant additional cost.

That's why it would be interesting to have been a fly on the wall, and know the Nissan production targets, and the max capacity of the assembly line. Obviously, hoping Nissan did not lowball the production numbers when putting all that together.

I find it hard to believe that Nissan would intentionally shoot short on ANY cars production currently. The Maxima has been discontinued currently for what I can assume is to make room for the popular models in the line up.
