You aren't.

A manual Supra is now my top choice for a new car instead of the Z. It all bakes down to reviews and how dealer allocations go, cause I've given my info to 3 Nissan dealers, and none of them had a "Deposit/allocation list". So if I cant order I'm SOL. Theres a Yota dealer a mile away from me that'll let me order anything I want for msrp.
Nissan has always been my worse buying experience out of all brands and I use to talk smack about ford. I have placed my deposit here in canada and had confirmed the allocation yet no update since. worse part is they currently have a blue Z touring southern ontario dealers and you would think my dealer would contact the first customer orders on their list and let them know the car was coming and can be seen... yet here I am seeing pictures of the car all over dealers in ontario yet as a customer that has put money down on one I have yet to be given the chance to sit in the car.

Also seriously considering the 6MT Supra now, think it still has the better chassis, unless proven wrong.....need the real reviews to come out with data logs. I'm used to the BMW straight six, very tuneable and can put down serious Hp, as was in my E46 M3 and 535i N54.

In all honesty I just don’t like the way the Supra looks….I’m not overly fussed on performace because I wont be racing.
Id rather go a MX5 than a Supra ( but remember I’m a delicate female?)

I will say though, Nissan has had my deposit for a year(and was told it would arrive Dec last year), and still no real updates. At least in Canada they do have one traveling around the place. There is supposed to be one single Z in VIC Aus…how true that is I don’t know, but regardless being a West Australian, I’ll never see it.
This has been the worst experience of buying a car hands down, and if the Supra was pretty, I’d be jumping ship. I don't blame anyone for changing if they like the car and was only waiting for a manual version ….I wonder how long it will take Toyota to pump em out?

I think it's important to note that they have not finish with the development of the Nissan Z yet. All of the prototypes (i.e. pre-production model) that we see on the interweb and car shows across US are not necessary ready for production yet. So the problem isn't at the dealer level, it's at the HQ level.

The first question should be- what are they trying to sort out with the prototypes? Anybody know?

So the long awaited manual GR Supra finally goes official and the whole dedicated thread on the MKV forums has turned into a battle ground. The insecure auto defense squad high jacked it and turned it into the "manual is inefficient and slow" thread. These guys are just as bad as manual elitist. If you want to be a red light warrior and drag race everything, just go ahead now, and if you wanna be "one with the car" just go ahead now.

Same here, great car but on looks alone I have no desire to own one. I see them on the street more now, and there's a red one in the parking lot at work a couple days a week, but I never got a really good up close look until the Atlanta show. Checked it out inside and out and sat in it, and I actually walked away with a worse opinion of the exterior than before. I'm sure driving it is a completely different story but if I don't at least like the way a car looks then I'm not buying it even if that means missing out on an otherwise great car.

Same. Test drove one and the performance is awesome but I can't get over the looks. It just doesn't appeal to me at all, which is why I'm getting the Z.

My question is.. will I still need to send the ECU to Russia to get it fully unlocked?

I'm also on the fence. Seen quite a few Supras around and imo they look pretty good. That B58 is awesome as well. Only thing is that the Supra in Australia is damn $$$. $110k brand new. Second hand around $85k-$100k. The Z is expected to be between $70k and $80k.

When Papadakis did the supra engine tear down. I was impressed to say the least. its a well built engine.

At the moment i'm just hanging on the reviews from SG

Do it! I'm more than happy with mine making the wait for the Z a lot easier.
