I really don't understand why you guys are complaining so much. We already know the new Z is coming out spring 2022. That's all you need to know. It'll be out soon. To all the people who went out a bought something else, well I guess the Z wasn't what you wanted, because its only a couple months away and you couldn't wait. Either that or you needed a car asap. You guys are too anxious. lol

Spring 2022 is almost here. The issue is, no words from Nissan nor any previews of actual testing and metrics, just shows and displays. That is the frustration. We're all wondering if there are more delays coming. I for one can't wait because needed something for the 2022 season of tracking. But still hopeful the Nismo will be a great Z, can wait for that.

exactly this! that along with no pricing which is the big issue in this market. If the price range doesn't make sense why buy it when i can get a better buy with a different vehicle right now

wasn't it already stated that the z will be approx 40k? You can safely assume give or take 5-10k more for the higher spec.

You can not safely assume anything….besides as I wrote on one of my other posts in Australia , the Pathfinder was due here summer 2021…still not here, still no set delivery date, the Quashi was supposed to be here EARLY 2022 no prices yet, no dealer delivery date yet …the Z was to come after these cars. Hardly Instills confidence when the two models that were already supposed to be released, don’t even have a date ….and as we get closer to when the Z is supposed to be here, it looks more and more like it will be the same scenario

The Nissan Corp probably is stoked that without addressing the 7 issues jdm-rhd listed they still pre-sold out all of Canada. I'm sure that the USA will be similar. The only thing that could cause problems is if the road tests come back with bad reviews, or some sort of major design flaw that gets revealed early after they begin hitting the road. The slow no price product release doesn't make customers happy but I'm sure the boardroom at Nissan isn't losing much sleep yet unless lots of orders begin to get cancelled.

haha....guess I'm just of a different breed. It'll get here when it gets here. ĀÆ\_(惄)_/ĀÆ
Always love when the ā€œI’m built differentā€ guys log on. I’ll never understand brand apologists for situations like this—Nissan has objectively butt fumbled the heck out of this launch. Period. They’re known to do this, as pointed out by others, and yet have not made any notable efforts to course correct. But yeah, ā€œit’ll get here when it gets hereā€ checks out. definitely compensates for the many, many months of anticipation building, etc.

I don’t blame anyone for buying something else at this point. Everyone has different needs and priorities, but yeah it’s because ā€œwe’re anxious lolā€.

Sigh.

I would have been happy if they come out and said, These are the performance specs, here is the price, however due to x, y and z the cars are behind schedule but you will see them 'insert ETA here'

However i believe there is a strategic reason this hasn't happened yet, its not by mistake, and the board are still probably quite happy as mentioned above

Nissan recently spent $300 million totally changing the production process at Tochigi (way more robots), where the Z is made, and that's probably why it's going to be a slow drip for deliveries for awhile, along with the chip shortage, which isn't going away any time soon either. Fit and finish should be better than before. They say they will be able to get the drivetrain installed to a fraction of a millimeter accuracy. The paint will be checked over by robots, etc.
You obviously are not an engineer. Totally changing their production process is incredibly complex and would take time to ramp up and get the bugs out. Also, the Z is not Priority 1 at Nissan. The Ariya is, and that vehicle is made at Tochigi as well. The Ariya won't be in the US until late this year and availability will be low. Between the chip shortage, COVID, and supplier issues, the auto industry is in a world of hurt right now.

This has been one of the most lame releases I've seen in a long time. How we know zero performance metrics is lame AF. At this stage all we know is it's a car with four wheels, and wipers.
Nissan is still working out the bugs on their new 'wiperless' windshield. That's why the delays. ?
